to easily seen the new post. because we need to enter different section just to see new post daily. that is more convinient for user to easily catch up on on new post even if its different topic just like news paper.  btw thats only my suggestion because i saw that function in other forums and thats very convinient for lazy user like me.

why don't you just click the link above that says "Show unread posts since last visit" it will lead you to the link https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=unread for unread posts made when you were not online.
