pos is trash, there is not a single pos coin that can give you a decent value just by staking, because the mint return is always so low it's not worth it
this because the whole pos thing would otherwise be a dump fest, that's way every pos coin out there has a bad value and always will have
the mining power give somehow a value to the coin, or at least make so that the coin will not be just dumped to death, from those that are mining
I also agree on this statement. Mining is the only thing that will define market price for coin. Early adopters and dev himself will always kill POS coin creating so much sell force whenever POS coin get listed in exchange for quick profit. No any investors are out there to hold those POS for atleast one year for interest. I love POW and like to mine them on the early days and stake them for few months and sell when difficulty sky rockets for mining. Mining is just a method to protect the network from bad behavior, it does not set the price since the cost of mining any coin is different depending on many factors Mining early on PoW and then dumping when the difficulty goes up does not help a coin network or value The value of a coin (or anything) is based on supply and demand. Mining affects supply only So pos is still the best than pow? my problem is i heard that someone are trying to mine with his laptop but his laptop cover is melt because of very hot gpu.. i have only low specs computer and laptop i just want to choose the best one if mining or staking.. for me mining is good and staking is good too.. but i dont understand about pos because i bought many credits in my wallet and staking and i just increase the amount to stake more but the same stakes result.. unlike mining the more gpu you have the more you mined. and i think its the best to mine in cold places or aircondition place.. so that my devices can cool down.. POS is more energy efficient and less wasteful. It is also not hard on processors (ASICs, GPU, etc.) since it is not performing the same operations. POS coins can be staked on a raspberrypi, for mining a pi can only act as the controller while the mining gear burns electricity When you buy more POS coins your stake reward should go up. It is a percentage of the coins you hold but some coins have a minimum age so they may not stake right away which could have been the problem with other coins you have tried BigUp stakes immediately so you would not have that problem and the return is ideal Here is a post that explains this very well: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1367075.msg14404134#msg14404134You can usually stake many coins on the same computer with POS, even on a pi using ROKOS, you can't do the same with mining. Yes you can merge mine but you can stake more with POS and use a lot less enegry on cheaper hardware

go with UNO if you want POW / peace of mind Top 5 strongest hash powered chain on planet EARTH!
but i also think POS NXT BLK
and a few others are safe as can be (but much less hash protection in consensus you will trust)

Rokos.space this is the best operation of newbs to use POS on the raspberry pi, it already comes with many wallets installed. You just open the wallet (we will say blackcoin for this example) like blackcoin, it will download the blockchain and have a receive address. You send coins to that address from a trading site and those coins start staking. Simple as that. AND, he won't need to get air conditioning, he can start right away

AND, he won't need to get air conditioning, he can start right away 1: Not every PoS coin supports raspberry pi, so that should be checked first, if he wants a specific PoS coin. 2: It does have a operating temperature range as do all electronics http://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/103/whats-the-maximum-minimum-running-temperatureWhat is the usable temperature range?
The Raspberry Pi is built from commercial chips which are qualified to different temperature ranges; the LAN9512 is specified by the manufacturers being qualified from 0°C to 70°C, while the AP is qualified from -40°C to 85°C. You may well find that the board will work outside those temperatures, but we’re not qualifying the board itself to these extremes.
70 degrees celsius = 156 degrees Fahrenheit A extra Fan blowing on it , may keep it in below max temp FYI: If the Air is humid , no issues, If the Air is dry below 39%, dry air blown constantly over electronics will cause a static charge build up, that can interfere with it operations.

Or you can request a firmware from developers? i have some stacks of raspberyy pi here in my house i can format some of them i just it before for programing cellphones and now some of them are expired so its better to change the firmware of this pi and change it into a wallet pos..

I just can't agree with you. Not everybody has the chance (and ability) to mine coins. Many people could be happy with their $2-5 earnings from staking and there is a good chance for them to hold their coins. Thus can lighten the sell pressure and could give the possibility for the coin to grow in a long term period (if things are done right). I agree. Pos is great. The people that dont like pos are miners that dont want the general public involved in their tech game of mining which means more money for them. Pos gives the opportunity for the average person to mint coins. They dont have the time nor the interest in the mining pow process due to having a life, making money at businesses etc... Furthermore, the majority of people confuse a pos of 5% with a savings account earning 5% from a bank. Keep in mind that you are getting 5% of minted coins that range from pennies to a half dollar and more. What this means is that your stake value is more like 25-50% value in dollars.

it can not destroy your desktop, lol at best your laptop, and not immediately, this is a commond falalcy, to think that hw fall so easily, i don't like pos because they have very low value, and their interest is lower than a faucets, it's pointless to me to have a pos coin

So if you really want to mine use gpu mining instead.. staking cbx with raspberry pi they are released it now already..
