What do you do first if your altcoin was hacked?

scan PC for malware.

What is the best do to get back your altcoin?

find the hacker and get him to return your coins. good luck, you'll need it.

And is there cyber police to report it?

no. you can ask for help, but I doubt anyone would be able to help you much.

Trusted an exchange that climbed to the top 3 in just under 2 years with your money? you are fucking stupid.

Nothing you can do but beg to who ever did i to return even just few of what you have  Grin
that is why it is necessary to simply stay away from downloading and installing software you don't know if it safe. mega is where some devs upload their wallet, never trust those, you'd rather use the web wallet. than installing the software.

it's a anticipation.
I ask how to overcome it, if that moment has occurred?

You probably won't ever get your coins back. You might try to google the bitcoin address the coins went to but this is not really much hope. You can try to use walletexplorer.com to check out connections to other addresses and maybe find other addresses of that user.

There is no real bitcoin police. I think there was a chatroom, #bitcoinpolice or so but most probably they can't do anything if they exist at all anymore. Nothing official of course. Only some bitcoiners.

Please ALWAYS contact me through bitcointalk pm before sending someone coins.

specifically for altcoins, it is worth notifying the exchanges where the altcoin is traded that you were hacked, providing the address where the coins were sent to (by the hacker) and convincing evidence that the coins are indeed yours (and were stolen from you).

Then the exchanges may block the coins if they already received them - and might eventually even return them to you.

I say specifically for altcoins  since for most of the alts there's pretty much nothing else to do with them apart from keeping them or sending to an exchange - i.e. no good ways of laundring.

From my own experience:

- don't use download links from dubious origin or in quoted posts, only from original developer or coin's original website
- keep away from browser plugins, they could contain malicious code
- always check the hashes (I know it's tedious Sad ) of the wallet or any other software download
- before installing software of any kind, check it on virustotal.com
(signed/hashed executables should be ok, but if in doubt use virustotal!!)
- if you can afford it, use a second computer only for crypto currencies (can be a cheap used notebook, but first do a clean os install)
- don't make crypto currency transactions in a hurry or when you're tired

That will help you to stay safe and don't get hacked, good luck!  Wink

Assume your computer is compromised. If you are not using Linux then I would reformat and install Linux.

Your kidding right? There is no such thing in bitcoin and this is likely true of whatever alt-coin your talking about.

LOL, No. If anyone could do anything to get the coins back then bitcoin would not be considered secure. The person who stole them will have to give them back.

Only some bitcoiners.
hmmm.....
Is there have desire to be cyber police and protect bitcoiner

There were some guys that tried to follow the trail of bitcoins to help bitcoiners that got scammed. Though when checking the amount of scams happening then they might have given up. You would have a better chance posting a scam accusation thread and hoping that some of the scam busters on bitcointalk will find a hint. Though the chances are slim.

Please ALWAYS contact me through bitcointalk pm before sending someone coins.

I recommend the mycelium wallet on your smartphone to keep your coins safe. Keeping coins on a computer is inherently unsafe, even if it scans clean.

I love mycelium, i have it on my android phone, but i do not completely believe it would be safer to keep your coins on your mobile compared to holding them on your PC...
IMHO, the safest place to store your coins is on a hardware wallet or correctly generated paper wallet.

You really should work on your english... otherwise it is hard to understand what you mean.

Like I said there was an irc chatroom, something like bitcoin police or so. You  might google for it. Though of course they were only private persons. At the moment it would be best to simply open a thread on here to get support.

Please ALWAYS contact me through bitcointalk pm before sending someone coins.

Well, when you want to take part in signature campaigns one day then you need to have a better english writing style... though you would need to take part in the forum some longer time anyway... which would lead to better writing style anyway. Cheesy
