So this Lazlo guy I think he should be still crying for buying a pizza with a mere 25 USD back then, but which now translates to 4.5 mln USD which is pretty much a nice amount to retire much earlier than expected. I have seen his account is not active from a few years in this forum, is he in depression or something cause I would be if I were to be him.

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Last time I checked he had children and was enjoying his life, not depressed at all. Some people get over such things. Life has much more to offer than early retirement.

He actually has 40,000 Bitcoin on an other account, if you follow the 8000btc from his pizza transaction. The last transaction he did was in 2013. Properly lost his keys. Sad if you think about it... I will be buying a pizza though!

He's not depressed, he was posting on the Bitcoin devs mailing list on 15 Aug 2015. He's the first dev to code an open source GPU Bitcoin miner, and he used it to mine those pizza Bitcoins. I think he'd rather post on a techy devs mailing list than here because he's likely to want to discuss techy stuff. https://www.mail-archive.com/bitcoin-dev@lists.linuxfoundation.org/msg01317.html

I think I'll celebrate it by eating a pizza, or at least by telling the story to my friends. I hope that at least the pizza had a good taste ! I don't think that he's getting mad because if he's an early adopter, he surely has many more bitcoins sitting somewhere.

I didn't realize that the Bitcoin Pizza Day is coming again, it like it was yesterday. If there any pizza store near me that accepts Bitcoin, I would definitely buy it.

For anyone wanting to order a Pizza using Bitcoin in celebration and living in Europe, Takeaway.com is a reputable company that accepts Bitcoin. I may consider ordering one myself.

Hope I could buy pizza using bitcoin just to celebrate this day. It was not too long ago that it happened but its already history. Maybe what I can do now is to crave for pizza..

24 minutes past 0000 here in my country. Happy Bitcoin pizza day!
I don't have the habit of eating Pizza and I do not remember my last time eating one. I also do not think I will be eating one today. However I will still celebrate this day (strange?).
