There will be other Ripple fountains.  The reason they drew a line with regard to the account age is so that people can't just make a ton of new accounts and get multiple disbursements.  Nobody knows (except possibly an admin/mod) whether you already have another account on this forum.

Thanks for putting my mind to rest.

I've not found out how many ripples there are, but I would assume its loads , so yes, I'll just wait! Wink

Is there a history of new currencies popping up every now and again and doing similar give aways?

100 billion I believe is the amount of ripples Tongue

It happens occasionally, Litecoin has been giving away for quite a while now.

Now this is interesting - could this be the first free market valuation of ripple XRP currency?

Rather than than give you 0.5 BTC for 10K, will you sell me all 50K for 0.5 BTC?

Alternatively, I will buy 10k for 0.1 BTC

let me know what you think?

10k is 0.00001% of the total Ripple market. Based on that, you're evaluating Ripple at 5 million Bitcoins..or over $150 million...
My evaluation is quite a bit more pessimistic I'd say...I'll buy up all 50k at 0.001 Bitcoins.

You can always ask if anyone are willing to sell some to you Grin. (not me)

That's how pricesw increase.

If this was 2010, and the giveaway was in Bitcoin, would you also have had the same attitude; "Damned, I missed the train" or would you have been smart and ask if anyone was interested in selling their 5.000 Ripple coins for $2?

Thank you, you saved me from maki8ng this exact post, even if I think you are way too optimistic.,

Ha Cheesy

Meh, I figured at 0.001 for 50k I'm evaluating Ripple at 2000 Bitcoins for their entire market. They have a pretty site and they're trying to develop a user base, so I figured I'd throw 'em a bone with a high eval Tongue

The mentality where you price something on its potential is dangerous and what creates bubbles.

Its value should be based on now.

For me, I have a couple of bitcoins and while I would like to imagine that one day they will be worth $3k a piece, the reality is, its unlikely in the next few years.

.1 of a Bitcoin is £1.70 or so, and that's worth wasting on 50k ripples - that is half the price of a McDonald meal - I can afford it!

So, who is going to sell me some at this price?

I went ahead and signed up anyway. Seems like a fairly good place to be a member and who knows, might come in handy in the future.
