Protip: "SELL SELL SELL" causes a price crash.

Protip: overpriced valuations causes a price crash.

Not that that's what we're in, but that is the root cause.

Yea this is just fluctuations, think the crash, if it comes, will be faster. And that the likely-hood of a crash depends on how many of the bitcoin-owners are like you: prone to panic. Without people like you there would not be any crashes, only fluctuations.... Relax man!

Yea well, that too. But there would be a lot less without people like this guy. But this is a special case since there's no way to measure the true value of a bitcoin...

Naaah .. drastic widespread change in sentiment from (possibly overpriced) valuations to lower valuations causes a price crash.

I don't believe it's a crash it's just a corrections value. In the past week publicity inflated the value of bitcoin and the infrastructural value didn't keep ip. It's just normalizing expect it to go as low as $22. Closest fit regression lines were predicting a the value of Bitcoin at $11. $7.5 to $31 isn't relistic and it's just balancing so no worries. Well worry if you are just here for quick buck.

Errrm if anyone would bother to look at the trade history of bitcoin prices dropping Friday through Sunday is NORMAL. There just aren't as many people trading on these days with last weekend being the main exception that proves the rule. The weird spike is going to cause fluctuations but look at some of the UK/GBP exchanges they're at this moment still going strong and trading at around 28-32USD. Move some coins there if you're feeling unhappy instead of ill-researched panicking.

Oh and starting to troll based on a couple of ill researched stories in the news is just.....

At first I thought this was a joke, but now methinks someone is trying to influence the market and pick up some cheap bitcoins.

I'm amused by these transparent 'fishing' attempts by people. They either have never traded anything that fluctuates in value, or think something like this will actually move price.

I'd say 'nice try', but in all actuality it is just a sad, sad attempt. All aboard the failboat!

If you're worried about losing value in your BTC wallet, just sell quietly.  If you tell EVERYBODY its going down, you won't get as much back.

Thus, there are two forms of logic for a post like this:

1.) Trying to drive price down to buy
2.) Mild to moderate retardation, and/or Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.

Be fearful when others are greedy, and greedy when others are fearful.

I completely agree with this. It appears we might have a lot scene kids trading bitcoin that have virtually no understanding of how markets work.

So the kids will buy, or mine, then sell when they get the munchies and bring the price down... So what? Eventually, they'll fall off to the sides and the real money will step in. If bitcoin is deflationary, uncounterfeitable, fairly anonymous and secure, the really shouldn't be another option.

If it isn't, there is :-)

Agreed !  Huh

In a forum on manipulation resistant, censorship immune digital currency - we really need moderation, manipulation and censorship, don't we?  Roll Eyes

The original poster got me mildly amused. That's how markets work, by pumping up panic and observing the reaction of the crowd. We should not fear kids with bit coin panic, since it is just their action which keeps the currency stable in the end. They are not smart enough to really manipulate the course, and they cannot cough up sufficient trading volume as well. But they get people thiunking about the course and the whole concept - and this is very good.
