Ive read so many claims "liar" "asshole" "insane" etc. today. But you're all wrong. HE is SATOSHI.
If you don't like him, it doesn't matter. Bitcoin lives on because it's the making of a genius. It lives on in a decentralized manner.

The real Satoshi could just send a message saying he is not Craig.

This actually might happen the more I think about it. If Craig is not the real Satoshi, then the real Satoshi might want to dispel these rumors before it goes too far.

Craig Wright could well be Satoshi - OK, is Satoshi. Not that my opinion or conjecture matters one way or the other, but there it is nonetheless. I think the Sartre reference was the start of it for me, turning down the Nobel Prize for lit. He said art isn't a competition. Most people would give their left arm to even be nominated - but he turned it down.
Anyhow, the degree in Theology, the autodidactic (and academic) eclecticism, the London/England connection, the massive amounts of BTC shifted early on, the diffidence around going public with proof to anyone beyond Gavin Andresen, Gavins belief in his authenticity. And even the way he came across in the BBC interview - which he rather strongly avowed would be his first and last.

No one knows what is really the truth and I honestly think we never gonna know this to be honest.
There is a chance he is SN but there is still a chance that this guy is maybe talking bullshit because we do not have real proof.

The bit that convinced me was this interview that Gavin gave the BBC:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNZyRMG2CjA

At 0.43 he says Wright fitted in with the Satoshi he knew: "sometimes prickly and difficult to deal with".

Gavin had the most correspondence with Satoshi, and I bet they argued over details as they were working out the bugs in the project.

The bitcoin space at large has mythologised Satoshi as a sort of selfless saint who never spoke an unkind word and who was perfect in every way. A sort of Jesus for the crypto world. But no real person is like that, ever.

If he is not Satoshi, then we need to understand how he fooled Gavin (and Jon).

If he is Satoshi, then we need to understand why he produced a blog post that was misleading and worthless when it came to convincing anyone except Gavin and Jon.

Personally, I have a much easier time believing that either he fooled Gavin and Jon, or they are, for unknown reasons, in cahoots with him.

1. The first claims that Wright was Satoshi in December turned out to be worthless and scammy.
2. His public blog post was misleading and falsely presented to be evidence that he was Satoshi, but was nothing of the sort.
3. It is clear from Andreas' story that leading bitcoin developers were recruited to make an "appeal to authority" type of public unveiling of Satoshi, rather than a simple presentation of cryptographic proof.
4. Wright is already in trouble for tax charges and has been busy explaining away other discrepancies in his story such as his academic credentials.
5. Other background information also does not fit: His personality conflicts, and the timing of Satoshi emails seems to strongly indicate he slept from midnight-6 AM, Eastern Standard Time (US). Not that he had to live in that time zone, but the further away one gets the more unusual a sleep pattern would be indicated. And Australia is about as far away as you can get.

The pattern already established for Wright is one of false and misleading claims, going back to December as well as his blog post today and his avoidance of simple public proofs. The claims in favor of Wright being Satoshi based on behavior and bitcoin familiarity are dramatically weaker. One would expect any half-prepared scammer to be able to accomplish that much.

Why the revelation a few months away from halving? Could he not have kept it to himself that he is indeed Satoshi a little while longer? Can he really be trusted with his statement?

Still waiting for signed proof....  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

^This. Everything else is just speculation. It is very easy to make empty claims but the truth of the matter is for someone as genius as Satoshi is, he wouldn't need proof from a third party to confirm that he is who he say he is. I have much belief CW is just an impersonator.

i don't know why we are even discussing this matter, it is just like other hundred topics and other people claiming to be satoshi. provide a signed message like a normal human being and then we will consider the fact that he can be satoshi.

Maybe Craig is helping us to lure out the real Satoshi!

I believe the real Satoshi has left bitcoin and does not want to be related to bitcoin anymore. He will not come out to admit or deny anything...

Very well put, thank you.

I don't see reason for this guy to play hide + seek if he actually wants to prove he is the creator.

If I am Satoshi, I will start moving my coins and cash them out!... since there is already any other someone admitting he is Satoshi- a scapegoat for others to target.
