Would it matter anymore? Our Ecosystem is diverse, we make decisions together and we've adapted to living without a God like figure. What IF? what's Next?

Control over his guesstimated quantity of coins is an element worth paying attention to. As for everything else, considerably less so.

I think there would be a division in the community if he started trying to take authority. There would be some people who say that Bitcoin should be whatever satoshi says it should and say that his authority is absolute. There would be another group which basically says "screw you we're doing this how we have done it for the past 5 years". Given the decentralized nature of Bitcoin, I certainly hope that we end up in the latter scenario if satoshi were to try to dictate what happens to Bitcoin.

That could be, since no one can provide some of his known addresses, I would really doubt that he would be carrying anything more than $500,000,000.00 in his main wallet,  since some of the first Genesis blocks only carry transactions worth 22k each (upto somewhere near block 75k) I don't think he would have saved more than 5% of those private keys (if any at all) which would be about $82.5M worth.

Tbh if he is carrying bitcoins anywhere near my estimates,  I doubt that would cause any major setback on the price or its stability.

It won't change anything for me as it doesn't matter if the till now unkown Satoshi owns his supposedly 1 million coins or that this Craig turns out to control them. Either way, they are in control of some one that can access these coins at any time if they so wish.

He won't because he is not Satoshi. I think there has been plenty of debunking of his "proofs" so far that most reasonable people can agree that this was simply another impersonation attempt by Craig who managed to string along a few gullible reporters, and even a few experts this time around.

People in charge aren't going to give up their power, not even for Satoshi himself.

I wouldn't like this asshole type-o guy controlling a million Bitcoins. Would be a reason to sell off.

There's plenty of other assholes who control large amounts too. What's so particularly clammy, hairy and puckered about this one?

Just lol'd pretty hard. I guessed you might champion or deny he is Satoshi based on the answers to the block size question.

No in my opinion it wouldn't matter. As you already mentioned the Bitcoin Ecosystem is diverse and based on consensus and not everone following some suddenly appearing dictator like lemmings.
If it would matter that would be a new attack vector due to social engineering.
Bitcoin is trust in code, trust in math and not trusting individuals!
