Hi,

The offer is brought to you on behalf of the Elastic Project. Elastic Project is an innovative way to link the power of cloud computing with the reliability of the blockchain technology.
Our website is developed by independent community members at http://www.elastic-project.org.

Your task is to create a new, nicely looking logo (that fits the website design) and submit it by May 7th, 2016 8pm GMT here in this thread.
Remember: simple is better. Perfection is achieved not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing more to take away.

You agree that all posted logos are published in the public domain.
After the submission deadline, I will create a public poll, lasting for 24 hours, and let the community decide which one is the best. The poll will be restricted to accounts that have been registered before the creation date of this thread.

The winner receives a bounty of 0.10 BTC. If the logo we eventually pick is different from the logo that has won in the poll, both designers will receive 0.10 BTC each. Designers are solely responsible to determinate what, if any, taxes apply to this bounty.

EDIT:
Please keep in mind, that the logo needs to replace the current logo on the website. This means you have to pay special attention to the correct dimensions and the right color. A blue logo might not fit very well on the blue background and constitutes a bad example.

You are requested to submit:
1.) your logo on a transparent background.
2.) your logo embedded into the following screenshot so we can get a feeling for the final result.

No, I will not disclose my real name on the Internet. The very simple reason I’m anonymous is so that I can talk freely about a free web. One mistake people often make is having the faulty assumption that knowing my real name or my association with a respected person, group or organization might get them to trust me more. In fact, I have no authority here. Elastic Project is a loosely associated group of developers which constantly changes over time. If you prefer projects with a more centralized structure, then please move on. Specifically, I kindly ask you to refrain from any messages that try to convince me of the contrary. My time is too valuable to be wasted with the same discussion again and again.

Why not to choose the winner by yourself ??

Good point, I realize this could become an issue. Due to the decentralized nature of the project, I feel I simply do not have the credentials to authoritatively decide who the winner is. What if we restrict the vote to accounts that have been registered before the creation date of this thread?

Sounds fair enough, but I don't think thats a best method, since I guess there are some users who have many alt accounts before and they could use it to join the voting Smiley Even I once heard a participant of some contest made a giveaway for few users if they vote his design.

Anw I am interested to join this contest Cool Good luck all

Having the community to vote is not a good option as people have many alternate accounts. You may not find the right logo .Instead why don't you simply share the logo with your team and select the best ?Much efficient.

I know how to solve this problem. If the logo we eventually pick is different from the logo that has won in the poll, both designers will receive 0.10 BTC each. So there is no worst case here: when a badly designed fake submission collects the bounty by using multiple sybils, we pick a different one. Because we can not prove a manipulation with 100% certainty in this case, I decided that both designers will receive the promised 0.10 BTC bounty. If on the contrary the sybilled logo is good enough, it can be assumed that we would have picked it in an authoritative selection anyway and so only one bounty is paid out.

Any ideas on what you'd want? I'm asking a friend to help me make one.
Something like this:

With the cloud showing the cloud-based aspect and the infinity showing the dynamicity of the service?

I'll try getting a couple more ideas to you, let me know any specifics.

EDIT: Transparent background

I'm trying to create a white-only logo, as I think it'd look decent on that background.

I'll definitely change the font and maybe modify the size of the logo.
Any preferences? Does a single-color white logo look good according to you?
(I can send you the design file directly if you want, but image hosts such as imgur don't seem to use an alpha channel, making the logo look like a empty white image)

Especially if you keep filling in bad quality logos.I don't want to demotivate you but you really need to work on your skills before submitting random entries .

@OP : You should keep a voting criteria then, allow only Full Member above to cast the votes.
