no. i think new releases like the upcoming bulldozer & llano cpus have way more impact than the crunshingpower of their gpus.

Short term bullish on amd but long term bearish. When bitcoins crash there's going to be a ton of used amd products for sale

Is anyone considering what portion of AMD's business is their graphic cards that are used specifically for mining?

If I was confident that AMD stock would rise because I was confident btc price would rise, why wouldn't I just by bitcoins?

maybe because you are not confident BTC price will rise. Maybe you think that maybe BTC price rise and also results in AMD growth. But maybe BTC disappears tomorrow but AMD has other reasons for growth. Not AMD as a pure BTC play, but rather an AMD play that probably wouldn't have been made without the hyperrun on cards over the past month but now tilts AMD from neutral to buy

Gamers didn't exhaust any online retailers lately.  That's my .02.

I had some AMD stock when it was $2 but sold it at some point because of stock market volatility and need for money.  My coworker who got me to buy it made something like 20k and still has plenty of the AMD that he bought around the $2 mark.

In not too long, mining will be unprofitable with all consumer hardware.
