Hi, I bought gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P for which I know MANY miners use, it should run 5 gpu's without problem. When we run 1 gpu up to 3 gpu's it works, when we run 4 gpu's imediatelly after hashing stats pc just powers off, it is not PSU issue since with same setup, same cards, same everything other botherboard works, we also tried all bios versions for this board. We double tested all HW and same setup on 2 diff boards, all fine, on this one, simply when hashing starts with 4 gpu's->power off in 2-3 seconds.

I am using same unpowered risers and yeah I tried that risers are not faulty(they are not) as on other setups I run. Sme setup works with another mobo(s) and cards have plenty of power from PSU (tested on another mobo). Powered risers just give about 70watts if I am not wrong. Feel free to explain me if I am mistaken, I am always happy to learn!

ANY ideas?

THANK YOU TONS!

Use powered risers in x1 slots. GPUs require 75W from the PCIe slot, some MBs only provide 25W to x1 slots.

Hey guys!

I bought the same MOBO, and before giving the cash to the person i tried it. I saw that it recognizes 5 GPU's and i could mine with them..
After i came home , it can not find more than 4 GPU's and dont know what is the problem..
I'm using powered risers, 1600W PSU, the bios on MOBO is updated, and i got every other updates on windows.

Any solutions??

I found that gigabyte 970a boards need IOMMU turned on to get 4+ gpus working.

I have a few of them.
