Will bitcoin still be the preferred cryptocurrency after 10 years or will something better take over?
I think it will still be. It is just developing and accepted now by many. Its users numbers were increasing and its open new transactions so i think it will develop more now and will learned new discoveries . In 10 yrs it will be popular all over the world than it is now |

I feel bitcoin will last for a lifetime. Even if there are serious flaws, if the developers can fix it before it is exploited by anyone, it will be all fine. No need to worry about quantum computer as the algorithm can be updated to quantum resistant algorithms. Bitcoin is here to stay and thrive. Believe that!

Of course it is, not just after 10 years even in future imo. No one can overtake the fame that btc has right now. Why would they trust into an altcoin if there is a better option and that is btc. Atleast in btc they know that it will live long unlike in altcoin theres no assurance.

It's yes for me bitcoin is in long term now if and i think bitcoin will be more famous and people are going to choose this currency to trade or to earn money this is better and the most good currency where to earn money and i preferred to use this till the next generation we can also use this in the future. |

I believe bitcoin still preferred the next 10 years, even 100 years from now if bitcoin still survive  . well, pretty easy to get a bitcoin, but those who are weak will the technology have not been aware of it. but, I'm sure someday they will realize the potential of bitcoin that currently exist, and it will make them compete to seek bitcoin bitcoin to become more popular than it is today, and it probably will last up to 10 or 100 years down the road |

I am not ready to go that far. But with records of last ~7 years we may able to project for next 10 years and may conclude the adaptation rate and how sure bitcoin will stay as preferred cryptocurrency. I too believe there will not be any drastic changes that may change people's preferences. |

For now, bitcoin is the preferred crypto for the next 10 years but things in crypto change very quickly in a blink of an eye. It will not be surprising to see a competitor challenging bitcoin for its position in the next decade. At the moment, I see that there are no threats to bitcoin position.

10 years from now is a very distant future in the world of technologies so it's hard to tell. I hope that after 20 years people will stil use it and that it will remain so strong or even stronger. But if something changes for Bitcoin for worse, it will stil remain the first cryptocurrency and we have to remember this.

Aside from that the base users of bitcoin keep on increasing each day, there are also lots of developer supporting and testing developments for bitcoins, and it is the most active in development among cryptocurrency. And I believe that whatever has made today will have a great impact tomorrow. So as long as this two are kept by bitcoin then no altcoins will ever replace it. |

By then bitcoin might be the preferred to handle the largest transactions between global corporations, governments and banks etc. 1 bitcoin might have a huge value by then. But I don't think it won't be preferred for buying a coffee in starbucks. It is not really suited to small transactions. Or not! Who the heck really knows ? +1 |

Everynow and then there are new games/investment sites or apps that been developed that adapts using bitcoin. It is really fascinating dreaming what else bitcoin can offer more now that it is being use of more users now. |

Let's ask your question from another angle. What will be the preferred cryptocurrency after 10 years? If you have an answer that says it will be another cryptocurrency, please explain why. I'm sure the reason will usually be funny if it's an altcoin. 10 years from now is a long time. The dominant cryptocurrency in 10 years might not even exist now. A couple of years ago, nobody would have thought that Ethereum would grow and command a market capitalization of 10% of Bitcoin. |

I don't think any costlier cypto currency will come in future I r bitcoin price and potential. If that kind crypto coin comes we can bitcoin in a second place else bitcoin will only rule the world. |

To predict the next 10 years I can not do. It will adjust situation bitcoin in the years coming. We do not know whether bitcoin will keep growing or otherwise. In addition there are many crypto that can shift bitcoin as a favorite. If the bitcoin coming can not compete and evolve will surely be replaced. But until now I personally believe that bitcoin will be able to grow and remains a favorite crypto.

Yes for sure but coming days bitcoin may face lot of problems due to it's price increasing because the value of bitcoin is keep increasing may be governments will take charge of it and it will ruin the world for many many years. Once it adopted by many banks than it will get more demand and their will be much increase in the price.

Most likely it will not be, technology moves forward so fast and new people will adapt crypto. From the current coins I think it is Monero that will survive and gain a significiant market capitalization. Monero may not reach the market cap of bitcoin but I think from the current levels it has significiant growth potential and yes even there is a chance it will go beyond. Will Monero be the best coin from now to eternity...? Most likely not, but among the current ones it will be definetely a good choice for some time at least (be it 3 years or 8 years or...) |
