Does anyone know how to do this? the reason I ask is that MSI afterburner doesn't let me go above 875 core and trixx does

cheers

I didn't find Trixx to be useful at all. I had this same issue last night and I finally got MSI Afterburner to work which is awesome because I love it. Basically what I did was change the clocks (started by lowering mem clock as low as it would go) then applying settings. Then under settings I changed to the other GPU and did the same thing. Then when I switched back to the original GPU I was able to clock the core up and the mem down some more. Just kept switching back forth until desired. Save profile.....win?

Hope that helps.

well i'm not interested in declocking the RAM since I don't pay a power bill here

but I need to be able to overclock past 875, so I can get these cards over 300MH/s

Fair enough, but underclocking the RAM will help with heat if you're worried about that. Anyway, what I said should still allow you to overclock the core.

I was just using msi afterburner, and my max core speed was 875, or are you saying that your methodology somehow increased the maximum core speed?

FYI my computer case is a benchtop style case made of wood so heat is not a problem Wink

The only thing I can think of is move the sliders around in Afterburner and then hit apply (even if you just move them down 1 MHz or something) then switch cards in the settings and switch back to see if it allows the slider on the core to be moved up.

You need to close Afterburner,
Open MSIAfterburner.cfg file with notepad.exe

under section [ATIADLHAL]
find/add or replace UnofficialOverclockingEULA = and UnofficialOverclockingMode = 0 with :

Code:
UnofficialOverclockingEULA = I confirm that I am aware of unofficial overclocking limitations and fully understand that MSI will not provide me any support on it
UnofficialOverclockingMode = 1

restart MSIAfterburner after saving changes, and enjoy your OC up to 1000. (Don't do it though)

*donate any extra mined coins to:

I was able to use Trixx and MSI Afterburner with no problems at all even on a crossfired/dual-gpu setup. You may need to download the latest version which is 4.0.1.

I think they both support crossfire configurations.

Most people here don't have crossfire though, just a bunch of video cards.

I tried that afterburner tweak and it didn't work for me.  Maybe I did something wrong... It has the clock capped at 875 for my 5830's.  The one I have OC'd w\ trixx shows up as 980 but when i switch to my other 5830 it shows 875 and won't change.

it definitely works

you need to copy the EULA in as well, 2 lines, i just copy-pasted over it entirely
