no there's no safe online alternative. use wallets like electrum instead. why do you want to use online wallets anyway?

I chose bittrex. in bittrex also serves as an exchange. I think for now the best online wallet is blockchain and bittrex.

ah. you don't have to worry about hardware issues if you back up your seed and private keys. that way even if your computer won't start you can still restore your whole wallet using the seed or import individual addresses using private keys. just write down the seed on a piece of paper and save the private keys on a USB or something.

goto: https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet and then choose the web tab to see the rest of the web wallets. i think greenaddress is a good online wallet too but i have never them. and if you are ok with how coinbase or xapo are handling things you can try them too. I chose bittrex. in bittrex also serves as an exchange. I think for now the best online wallet is blockchain and bittrex.
i have only one thing to say to you: remember cryptsy

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip. Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

I don't think it will be ever safe to store big amounts on any exchange. Keep the amounts low so you never get big hurted when they run away like other big exchanges did before. When you talk specific about online wallets then you have few big names like XAPO and Coinbase. There will be always a risk when you store it in an online wallet because they own your private keys. So when you do keep the amounts always low and use for big amounts cold storage so you own your private keys by yourself. Maybe other good option If you use an iPhone then there also exist Bread Wallet(cold storage for mobile). When you like to gamble stay away from Coinbase they ban people who use there wallet for gambling. XAPO don't ban people so far who use there Bitcoins also for gambling.

blockchain.info is the safest online wallet but I still wouldn't like to leave a significant amount of bitcoin there.
If you use blockchain.info please make sure you use 2FA & use a complex password. They also have a paper wallet type print off that contains your private keys in the event they go down & you need to move coins.

For me from the Philippines, it will be coins.ph. We can buy bitcoins in an hour using local bank deposit or online banking and can withdraw funds within the day or even on cardless transaction via a bank atm. We can also pay bills using the same wallet with rebates even for some services.

Your question is very vague. There are many preferences that can be considered, hot storage (online wallet) or cold storage (offline wallet). Why don't you look at this thread and read the replies of users. I'm sure you'll get some ideas and see what fits your preferences. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1290266.0

no there's no safe online alternative. use wallets like electrum instead. why do you want to use online wallets anyway? Well i didnt liked electrum and i had just one problem with it i havent saved the keys to be able to acess the account,my computer just burned and took my adress and wallet with it,besides that its a very easy wallet to use, just be sure to record your keys in paper in a place safe besides computer,i only use blockchain.info as im with them since the begining and i have no complaint to make at them.

May be try bitgo online wallet, there you'll have full control over your money. Needs email address to sign up & login. You may also try coinbase wallet too, they're using shared wallets so that, you don't have full control over your money.

Aside from blockchain.info, I think the best online Bitcoin wallet would be Coinbase, primarily due to all the security features it has. It is also fairly easy to use, and has a fairly simple and detailed layout. The addresses rotate for some added anonymity, but the address will always be able to be linked to an account if you so choose to use it that way.

IMO it's coinbase.
You can buy/sell bitcoin on it, you can use it as a vault, and best of all - they pay the transaction fee for you!
You also get a new address every time you deposit. That makes it more secure.

Bitcoinchain.com has been a good one for me since I have used it. I like to see how much bitcoin is worth before doing any transactions I do so seeing the splash page is helpful to me. They graphical interface is simple and response time is fast as expect from this.

Aside from blockchain the best online wallet for me is XAPO it is like other wallet but here your bitcoin address was email its nice because you dont need to copy from the site because you know your email and no hassle . Xapo online wallet is the best wallet for me because there are many games in Playstore that helps me earn more bitcoin.

every wallet has its own pros and cons, so you can never find something that is perfect in every aspect, for example these above comments on mine are saying coinbase is the best, although it has a lot of good features it has two major bad ones. it is a web (online) wallet and also you don't have access to the private keys so they can run away or block your account.
