An economy built on infinite growth while remaining within the confines of our planet is not sustainable. There comes a point where you just can't make enough money to support the debt required to improve businesses and economies further.

You wanna know how you can built an economy built on constant growth? Get out of a small, finite system we are outgrowing and get to space. Fixing our issues on Earth without moving towards the stars will fuck us in the long run, and getting everyone out of poverty just increases the drain on already low resources. Get to space, get fusion working, mine helium, water, etc., and bring them back. Make colonies. That is the only way to sustain such an economy.

Well, we aren't even sure if we've been on the moon. So building colonies on other planets is somewhat far away. However we cannot even make a dollar truly digital, so if we were to transact in between planets, we wouldn't use dollars. There is just no way. It would be a shame exploring space while we're still stuck within so primitive monetary system.

All the funny shit is going to happen once we remove physical cash and make everything bank based, with negative interest rates. It's like forcefully trying to pump the economy into gear. But no matter what we do, we're just raising the debt limit. Noone can and will pay back the debt. Ever.

It is strange that the average person on the street are oblivious to these things. They keep on making new debt and the frequent the Malls and shopping centres as if nothing is wrong. The policy makers

are more focussed on the Presidential elections than what is happening to the US and global economy. I guess people know about the problem, but they not really prepared to deal with it or rather they

do not want to deal with it. I compare it to smokers... they know it's bad for them, but they continue doing it.  Roll Eyes This is not a problem Bitcoin can solve..  Huh

People don't need to think about that, they are used to the system and making unnecessary changes to their paradigms don't go trough. Don't forget bitcoin is for the under-serviced. People who the banking system can't or won't service or does that poorly. We need more people who don't think bitcoin is a revolutionary technology, but people who use bitcoin just because it works for them. A user doesn't need to know the many technical aspects of bitcoin. They just need to make the transactions, that lubricate their daily lives.

I am 80% sure that most of the countries in the world are in debt, I highly doubt there are any countries in the world that are not, and if there are any chances are they are small, third-world countries with a lack of government or business.

Debt makes the world go 'round, if we didn't have it we would be in a pretty stagnant place with the economy, and we would definitely have far less growth than we do now (regardless of how little it is).

Ponzi schemes always end.

The risk grows exponentially while the profit only grows linearly. At some trigger point the house of card comes down as the risk is overburdening.

As the article says it, the system is overleveraged, there is nothing more left. Now it will probably come down very soon and very hard.

even then some people will find a way to be extremely greedy and even outgrow the universe.

even if the universe does turn out to be infinite

some people just always want more, no matter how much they already have

The end game is in since 2008 at the latest. However the foundations of the end game stem from a wrongly constructed monetary system where debt accumulation is inevitable.

It's difficult to say when the end game comes to an end. Cheesy This game is going on for years and it might be prolonged for more years. Hopefully the end comes soon enough, because the longer this game is played, the more extreme the consequences will be when the house of cards collapses. I'm not happy with the consequences this will have for many people, but I'm slowly getting sick of waiting...

I thought denmark and norway weren't in debt but turns out even they are in fact in debt too

They are socialist, of course they are in debt, every socialist country just spends like crazy from endless debts.

It's just horrible what happens in europe.
The only societies that are not in debt are the communist countries. Since the people work to support their government without any say in how they spend it on it's infrastructure and resources.

Pardon me. "Not as much in debt than other nations globally."
As the first one you mentioned holds your great US of A's debt bag since early 2000.
See anybody with a brain can search these facts up. It doesn't take any high level of intelligence to do this simple task.

You are really some funny idiot^^"

I thought denmark and norway weren't in debt but turns out even they are in fact in debt too

They are socialist, of course they are in debt, every socialist country just spends like crazy from endless debts.

It's just horrible what happens in europe.

I don't know any country which is not in debt. This is how debt based monetary systems work.

To be fair, some countries are in less debt than others. Then again, with our debt based economy, America has had growth throughout the years no matter what.

I don't ever see us balancing the budget ever again though.
