Why would I choose someone who wasn't my wife or I to get a % of my action? Because someone spammed their code at me?
If you trade $100,000, your referrer gets $50. Is it really that big of a deal? it's not because of the commission. it's because people are spamming the forums, and it's really annoying.

If you trade $100,000, your referrer gets $50. Is it really that big of a deal? Affiliate programs can be useful, but not how this one was executed at all. This results in a bunch of doofuses advertising the same thing in the same place to people who 100% would hear about it anyway. They add zero value. On top of that it's essentially free for anyone who cares to get their own referral money. I stopped making market a while back, but $100k doesn't take that long when you constantly take both sides.

Waiting to see if they have more sane limits and allow privacy. I'm pretty turned off by the referral system. It looks like I'd have to make an account with which to refer myself in order to get both sides of the discount? Weird. Why would I choose someone who wasn't my wife or I to get a % of my action? Because someone spammed their code at me?
Maybe because some people do a hell of a lot for the bitcoin community at large and deserve to pick up a small margin here and there. I used the code handed out by Bruce Wagner on the bitcoin show, as I admire what he has done and rather than pay the sizable sum for the donation I think he deserves, depleting my savings (and their compounding future growth), I can tip him a residual reward. I liked it for the very reason you dislike it. Oh well... Diffrent strokes for different folks I guess.

I thought about to switch to Tradehill. But at the moment its no option for me. Tradehill does not offer a way to transfer EUR. You can transfer USD via an bank transfer but this needs up to 3 days and costs up to $15. Makes no sense for me. To MtGox i can transfer money using Liberty Reserve. They will bill me also some fees but it tooke me just some minutes to finishe the transfer with about 1% fee. And Dwolla seems only to be available for Americans. Am i write or wrong at this point ? Until Tradehill has not established a way to transfer money (USD or better EUR ) instantly ,meaning up to 1hr, with less fee it is not an option for me and i need to live with MtGox. But i looking forward and will watch how Tradehill will grow.

Lack of EUR payments is not really a bonus. I diversify bank accounts and if USD is the only withdraw option, going to have to pass on Hill for now.
I'd also prefer CHF (swiss francs) but that's prob. not going to happen.
Ruxum has a CHF market. Or you can sell your bitcoins for usd and then convert them to chf within the web.

Personally, I just stuck with mtgox though I have nothing that is stopping me from trying out trade hill.
I got annoyed with all the spam they caused turning up useless posts and blog replies on every bitcoin related article.

I chose Tradehill because I can withdraw via check, I don't trust the various online wallets and services the other exchanges require you to have to get usd out.

Why choose one or the other? I use both. When doing a decent size buy/sell, one or the other always has a slight price difference. I use whatever one is more advantageous, why not?

I won't use both. Both have a lot of hassles moving your money through the Liberty Reserve etc. I rather keep the coins I mined. Bitcoins are hard to buy, maybe easier to sell but a lot of problem taking back the money.

I've never trusted their so-called "Dark Pools" that don't match real world dark pools. Dark Pools in the real market allow people to trade anonymously, Mt Gox Dark Pools allow someone to rush the price up or down (buy regularly and then sell dark or vice versa).
there is no more dark pools on mtgox for weeks

I'm still with gox, but that's only because I'm too lazy to sign up for tradehill and I usually don't like stuff with referral systems built in.
