I've been looking for a place to start this - I'd like to generate some trust as escrow, and/or start buying/selling BTC in order to gain some trust around here!

I'm new to the whole lending and loaning thing (only because I've never needed to do either). What sort of stuff qualifies as collateral? I know accounts can be used, but are they just valued first at that price estimator? What have you held as collateral before, and for what amount(s) of BTC? Thanks in advance for the help

of course so many people loan bitcoin, you can check it on lending section, and i think loan bitcoin for trading is good if you pro trader and can make profit in every trade, but if you still learn and newbie in trading, don try it,or you will have trouble to pay your loan.

You're not trusted at present sono one on their right mind is going to use you as an escrow. Maybe when you're a hero member with green trust from trades and so forth. Also, does no one here do any reading before asking about stuff like collateral? It's all been discussed before and there are stickies in the lending section.

Trading itself is one hell of a gamble. Borrowing off someone else to do it? That takes things to a whole new level of insanity.

Agreed. In investments what they say is, invest only that which you can afford to lose. It's not wise to loan for something which you intend to use for gambling, moreso if you have no previous experience of gambling and using loaned money to fund it. That's gonna cause a lot of headaches down the road.

If you lost in trading how are you going to repay the money you borrowed for trading? That's a big risk for the lender but if there will be a collateral at least the lender will have something to liquidate when borrower can pay anymore. Anything that will happen in the future like salary in the next few days, payment for a service in the next few days are not considered as a guarantee and connot be used as a collateral.

I don't like the Idea honestly. loan for trading may jam your work. for example if you get a loan of 0.2BTC for altcoin trading. and you buy etherium for that money.. there is also chance of losing but I just avoid that here. so if we sell these etherium for 0.22 btc. our profit will be 0.02btc. and we have to repay 0.022(with interest). so basically loan for trading will give you nothing. just gain some money from some where to invest in trading.

Dont expect anyone to loan you this deal, unless the lender see a reputation you built overtime or something.
But a indiviual loan is hard as it is, if you dont have some collateral to work with.. you should just ask for a friend in real life or something.

That's what I mean, just because I'm a hero member doesn't make me appear any more trustworthy & it's not like I'll get green trust if I never make any successful trades due to lack thereof. This is like trying to land an entry-level job, where every job requires ten years of experience in the field. How are you going to get experience when everyone's asking for it already :\

yeah, of course there are many people interested in giving loans and taking loans to do all sorts of things and one of them is trading. you can do that in the lending section of the forum (lend or borrow) as long as you can provide a valid collateral. also there are some exchangers like bitfinex and poloniex that has the loan section.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip. Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

Why don't you lend on Poloniex? Many of the margin traders borrow to do their trades. On the other side are people lending. It is quite a safe platform, so it is probably easier to do it there than negotiating individually with people who want to borrow.

I see more statements that people borrow money to trade. Is there anyone who actually did it? And he succeeded to repay as planned?
What was the amount, time, collateral?

Perhaps you should consider one of the exchanges offering the margin trading ? In effect, trading on margin is borrowing bitcoins or fiat (depending on whether you buy or sell) from other people. The exchanges are handling the borrowing and collateral process. There are a few exchanges with margin trading, including bitmarket.net

To be honest, lending via exchange brings risk of third part..
