It doesn't show the viewer count now.

Is it a bug or a permanent change?

Yeah i just saw this and also wonder is it permanent.

If it is, it is a very bad decision i must say.

Yup! If it's on purpose, really bad decision.

It's our only way to see if our article stands out and reach the public.

And this is another way for the whales to be under the radar. Now we cannot easily see a post with 1000 upvotes and only 10 views!

I really like Steemit, but some of their decisions are not for the community, but for the powerful whales.

I really hope it is just a mistake.

Otherwise, they are shooting their foot. Worst decision ever.

Also, it is a disappointment that there is not any official news about it.

Like minnows on steemit, dedication, consistency, quality content, should always flow, before marketing it to attract a good curator to ultimately lift you higher on the steemit platform ..

What do you think of the @burnpost initiative to get the price of SBD back to the $1 peg and help combat abuse on Steemit? I am still not sure what to think of it, but I am following it closely since some big players seem to be supporting it.

The things I didn't like about steem aside from the shady launch was the comparison to facebook and other social media sites. Steem has little in common with those sites and how they make money.  Many of you may not be aware that facebook is closer to a CIA service than a social media platform This should have been apparent from its launch to sudden popularity amongst young people then the subsequent going public then they're deep involvement in business to now deep involvement in news and politics. Unfortunately this is where the money comes from. It isn't because facebook is doing something good. The top US players are rarely on top because of a good product or service, almost all like facebook, amazon, tweeter are handled at the by the intelligence agencies across the US.  How can steem possibly fit in ?  They can't grow or even survive without a steady source of cash coming in and the coin alone isn't going to that.

Still a bit perplexed by steemit.com's development cycle. They got a lot of money at hand and still not basic DM feature, no user moderated tags etc...

I'm not involved with development but my guess is that the database sharding issue is bubbling up to near top priority because of the amount of data the blockchain is producing.  As I recall it was pegged for the next release.  Ethereum developers just announced some progress in this area.  A lot of this stuff hinges on development that is not apparent so much but critical to the function of the project, hopefully we will see some good changes soon though.

Dm feature is really something i miss a lot. You are paying a bot for some worth of upvotes or somebody to resteem and if they don't deliver the only way to complain is sending him more money. Also it seems view count disable is permanent and there is still not an official statement about this issue.

Also not happy with this change. I had some "how to articles" that are ranking well in search, and I can only identify them by how many views they are getting. Now I can't see this. WTF steemit. :-(

Sometimes it's quite discouraging to work on the faucets when you saw that the numbers of captchas are more then the number of MRAI you are generating and it was 15,000 accounts working on the faucets, they should have increase the distribution to at least 50,000 now per hour because the number of people working has now triple..

With EOS launch coming up, the STEEM has the right opportunity to capture the eye balls with the same blockchain (chain-base) code and probably similar TPS.

I turned my back on most of the crypto scene months ago, because I don't like how it's all about short term profits for gamblers and deceivers on the back of those working hard to provide value.
Steem made me come back, and even start working on new projects utilizing it. There's never been a project with more potential to break out of our small sphere and make blockchain technology useful for everyone.
Rewarding contributors, the elimination of transaction fees, the community interaction of the team behind steemit - those are just three factors out of many which make me believe in the future of Steem.
The negative posts here just strengthen my opinion, this won't be gamed by those looking for short-term profits. It's a project that will change the world, and now is a great time to get involved shaping the future.

I am in full agreement here. Steem will change the world and things will never be the same again. SMT update is coming around the corner, this can empower all the people who do not have a voice right now. INDEPENDENT JOURNALISM will be saved with STEEM. FREEDOM will come back to the people of the world.

A lot of bullish sentiment but the truth is that steem has gotten no where near its ATH in bitcoin, not even close.

Starting to think that steem will never break 100k sats again, most of its users probably dont even look at the price in bitcoin anyways, always will be looked at in terms of $.

The development of steam is very slow? The site still lacks many things like notification system, integrated messaging system and composer and better plug-ins for third-party technology.
