Looks like it's been up a few hours ago and came back down again. They have an update on their twitter account:

Steemit lost value and users. Competition is bigger now. There are new platforms, such as Scorum. Voting power is too low to show any positive effect on posts. I don't think many will invest STEEM and SBD just to get higher voting power now. Platform is slowly dying.

Best option for you is to create a new Steemit account and transfer all your fund there.

I don't know why would anyone join Steemit anymore. It's a dead platform already. There is no voting power, always same big whales get voting pool prize. There is no motivation to join Steemit.

It was a great project and experiment to decentralize social networks but now is the time to shut down the experiment and to learn from previous mistakes and start Steemit 2.0 . Most campaigns started to reject Steemit platform though, for whatever reason. Which projects do you write? Do you follow any bounty management team?

That would be considered a Ponzi scheme
Amount of steem doesn't impact how much you will earn. You can power up with that steem and get a higher voting power, but the downside is you won't be able to power down for another 2 years after powering up.

Powering down is only like 9 weeks. The 2 year power down was changed about 6 months ago.

Thanks for letting me know, I was unaware. Is it really 9 weeks though? Someone noted that it is actually 12 weeks.

It is a very useful blogging platform and you can find many of them if you just keep on surfing.
I've found interesting articles that I can read all day long.
But it's hard to earn that much through blogging on this much.
