I plan to add a Bitcoin wallet, market place, and email address service to it later.

All Bitcoin addresses added to the profiles were erased. This is due to a change we made in how the addresses were stored.  There is now support for Bitcoin and Litecoin addresses and future changes will not cause the addresses to be erased thanks to the change made.

As much as I hate social networks sometimes this isn't a bad idea considering how new Bitcoin is, is it going to be decentralised so we don't have government numpties coming along to take it down?

I think it's a pretty good idea, assuming you add bitcoin-specific features. Ditto on the decentralization aspect though - let's see how it goes!

Looks great. one thing however, it looks like there is a spelling error here:

"share with other people using with Bitcoin. "

Maybe im reading it wrong, but shouldn't there be a "share with other people who use Bitcoin" or "share with other bitcoin users"

The with was from a different saying we had there before. Thanks for caching that. We will remove it now

A website can only do so much about that. As for privacy, we don't want to know what you liked or commented this year. This is why Bitcoin Socially automatically erases data from the logs once it gets older.

We hope businesses will utilize the business accounts. This will enable free advertising and make it easy for users to find businesses. These accounts will also enable users to comment about, read about, or instant message with the businesses.

Not to threadjack but there is already

Bitcoinhub.org

Needs some work still also, needs the input from users but has a lot more features.

This thread is for updates on the progress of development, as well as user feedback about Bitcoin Socially. Please do not span those alternatives!
We have more features already and intend to add many more!

Best Regards,
Bitcoin Socially Administartion

Well done. I don't quite get it though. Isn't it just facebook with your bitcoin financial information available for everyone to see? If bitcoin was to become mainstream what appeal would this have?
Maybe a few satoshi could unlock pics/videos and other user created content.

If you read the first post you would see that a wallet is in the works for Bitcoin Socially users. Also there is now more stats and there is much more to come.

There will be many features for Bitcoin users, but many are still being worked on before they are publicly released.

As for charging satoshis to unlock pics/videos... Our service is 100% free and it is the end-users choice on who can view what out of their content. Videos, Images, and posts have the privacy option to only be seen by:
  • Everyone
  • Only Registered Users
  • Only the Users friends
  • Only the Users friends and everyone within the Users sub network
  • Only the Users friends and their friends within the Users sub network

Best Regards,
Bitcoin Socially Administration
