I want to practice making a paper wallet. Other suggested i should learn how to make them.

The problem is. I was reading on blockchain

https://blockchain.info/wallet/paper-tutorial

It says that the paper wallet has my (private key)password. So if someone broke into my home and stole my paper wallet, they could easily steal my bitcoin

but if someone stole my usb,  they would not be able to steal my bitcoin because they don't know my password,

so my question is,   is it possible to make a paper wallet without the password?

so the paper wallet would be another backup, other than my usbs,

i could scan and see how much bitcoin is in it, and if i wanted to spend it i would scan it, but i would need to enter my password,

i don't see the point of a paper wallet if anyone who steals it, can easily spend the bitcoins

If your paper wallet is unencrypted, your Bitcoin can be stolen. Likewise, if your backup on a USB is unencrypted, someone can steal your Bitcoin. The solution is to use encryption. Paper wallets can be encrypted just like a digital backup can be encrypted. If you go to the paper wallet tab of bitaddress.org, there is an option to BIP38 encrypt. Check that and enter your encryption password. The private key will be encrypted and can only be decrypted if you know the password.

Also, the private key IS NOT the same as a password. They are not synonymous and do not use them interchangeably. Refer to the private key as the private key and the password as the password.

It is possible, paper wallet is just your private key on piece of paper. It often looks fancy. You don't need to encrypt it, but then u need to hide it well.
Many websites include paper wallet to be generated with standard address.

Forgive me if I misunderstood you but your wording makes it seem like you don't really understand the difference between an unencrypted address and an encrypted one.

You can have anything you want on a paper wallet.
An encrypted address will be unreadable to anyone without the proper password to decrypt it.

Encryption means it's more complicated to spend your coins, but it is also more secure.

Paper wallets are generally used in a context where security and backups are important, so you are right saying that a paper wallet without encryption isn't very useful. There are better, safer and more convenient solutions.
But the main point of paper wallets is the steer of technology and online connectivity.

You can take the private key and encrypt it. So that even if the paper is stolen or revealed, the private key is still protected.

So if you scan the text, you still need to decrypt it.

I would not recomment it, because there are no softwares specifically for this that I know of. And since you are unexperienced with it, you can make many mistakes, that would expose the address to many risks.

what is this password you are talking about? is it the blockchain.info wallet password, in that case you need it to access the private keys so you can get the paper wallet from bc.i and print it.

but if you want extra security on your paper wallet, you can still use some kind of encryption on those keys so someone without the encryption key can not use those.

When you put on paper you could do things like encryption mentioned.  You could change say 2 number on your paper wallet to something incorrect where even if someone finds it they will bot be able to import your wallet.

Just make sure to have a place (or places) that you document what you changed and what they should be.   If your asking if you need blockchain password if your have paper wallet anwser is no, the private key is like the mater key to your BTC holdings.

Like a couple others said: it looks like you're a bit confused about the technology.

What i would propose is the following:
Go to https://bitcoinpaperwallet.com/bitcoinpaperwallet/generate-wallet.html?design=alt-testnet
Create a TESTNET paper wallet
Go to a TESTNET faucet (can easily be found in google), claim some FREE TESTNET coins
Install a TESTNET wallet on your android phone and on your desktop (you can use bitcoin core and run it on testnet to)
Experiment with these TESTNET coins untill you understand what you're doing
Send the TESTNET coins back to the faucet once you know what you're doing, no need to keep them, they don't have any value anyways Wink

I am confused still.    I went to bitaddress.org and made a paper wallet

Here is what it looks like:

My password is:   mybitcoin

But i am still confused.  Because now that website knows my password,  so when i transfer my bitcoins on that paper wallet,  there is a chance they might save my password,

Also, i see a barcode for "Spend"   i don't want to spend my bitcoins,  how can i get rid of that,

I prefer the .dat file in the usb, no one knows my password there and there is not way to spend my bitcoins unless someone knows my password

ok i found out if i right click save the page, and i disconnect from the internet, i am still able to use this website,

So i can put in my password on the paper wallet with a computer that is not connected to the internet.

So once i have made the paper wallet, i can transfer all my bitcoins to the paper wallet, and even if someone steals my private key, they are not able to spend it because it is encrypted,

So after that,   i take a screenshot of my paper wallet,

So really, in cold storage i will have:

1. 5 copies of = my paper wallet(laminated physical paper)
2. 5 usb sticks of = a .png picture screenshot of my paper wallet

i don't need any wallet.dat file anymore!

that's it!

and the password to decry-pt my paper wallet is in my head

am i right?

you are completely correct, and maybe even over-doing it (i mean, 10 copys might be a bit over the top? Altough it's completely up to you... whatever makes you feel safe...).
I think the more important question is: where do you save your 10 copys.... If you put them all in your floorsafe, and you get robbed or your house burns down, you still lose everything.
It might be a good idear to keep a copy with the notary, or in a bank safe, or with your parents/siblings/...

BTW: you do know not to use the paper wallet you posted earlyer, yes? It is compromised, so it's a throw-away now!

It is possible, but anyone that find it and find out that it is a bitcoin private key may take your coins.

Just export the keys without encryption and print them, if you still want to do it
