Read a story about micro dosing LSD becoming popular in San Francisco tech community and have been known to visit M.A.Ps and another site called Reset.me and wondered what people think of this and if anyone has tried this?

For the record I dabbled in drugs as a teenager and always enjoyed mushrooms but stayed clear of LSD as I lost a close friend when we where 13 and he walked off a cliff and it stuck with me that his memory would hit me if I ever tried to partake.
Few years a go I questioned going to Brazil for a Shaman experience but the interest in that has passed but I find this micro dosing aspect interesting in a brain hacking type of vibe.

Hacking the body and mind seem to be really popular and increasing due to the rise in concussion diagnosis,PTSD and people looking to improve their current system like a computer upgrade. Have seen some things on the market to do with magnetic charge and electrical current for people to try out. The issue I have with a lot of these systems is the charge/current is not focused and you risk altering you mind in serious ways.
Now I now I am saying this well talking about LSD,which I do find ironic but a part of me wants to try this in a very small amount.
Something I recall about mushrooms was how relaxed and in the now I felt days later. If you can not tell I am way to much in my head and can over react to slights that people have no idea they are making.

So any one tried this, interested in trying or know a guy? Cheesy
Any type of thoughts are welcome, even the anti drug crowd.

I wouldnt recommend it, most people tend to other forms of drugs.

People might do it for the creative experience to enhance it, but I wouldnt advise it. Question would be is what would you get out of it?

There are other ways to hack your mind, last time I checked was picking up a book.

Circumstances may vary - if youre an artist trying to do - then yeah what you got out of it was a beautiful art based on micro dosing lsd. But everything else is like a wtf moment.

But losing a friend a young age like that should be a helpful reminder to stay away.

Highly inadvisable, in my opinion.

Constantly altering your reality is a poor idea. You lose the anchoring to the real world. Constant dosing will change you, often for the worse. Chemical dependency is a major concern. Cost will rapidly escalate. As your tolerance lowers, you can expect to require higher and higher dosages.

In addition, I know a handful of people who have tried this idea. They found very little improvement. It does not seem to be effective unless you are in a creative industry. Any other line of work? You would come up with the idea on your own, no psychedelics needed.

Why take on the risks for no reward?

We are talking about extremely low doses, not even anything like the recreational user level and for a short period. No one gets dependant on lsd, they may fry the brain from overusing but there are studies that are coming up about benefits for the wiring of the brain.
Will look through M.A.P.S tommorrow and see if I can find any of these studies.

interesting but I don't see how micro doses are going to do a thing. I've known a few people who become high functioning vegetables thanks to lsd so there's no way I'd ever fuck with it.

For sure can testify to seeing people going over the deep end. It some times shakes lose a persons mental health issues but some debate that some of those people would have gone that way eventually.
My neighbor as a kid has since passed used to be involved in giving acid to prisoners for therapy and study in the sixties. Used to talk about it changing their outlook.
Will do some more research into it and get you guys more info on the benefits.Right now I would butcher the aspects with my laymans view. Will update tomorrow.

Bitcointalk is my drug. I go through so many alternate realities while reading the replies on my threads...

There is always someone who tells you "if you smoke weed like Bob Marley you'll be as creative as him. Are you a painter? Try to cut your left ear. Would you like to be like Beethoven and Stevie Wonder, but at the same time? Take this sharp knife and..."

You get the picture... This is all about finding shortcuts...

Wanna get high? Try to help the Amish raise a barn. Cut yourself from the internet while you do it. Come back in 30 days...

this is a load of shit.. micro dosing will be never enough because your body wants more and more drugs day by day.. maybe, when you use a little bit lsd, you can feel mentally alert.. but in the long course of time, it will harm you deadly .

Think some of you have little experience with psychedelics and are presuming they work the same way a opiate like cocaine or meth would work. No one gets addicted to mushrooms,LSD or any other form of psychedelics it just does not happen that way.

http://www.popsci.com/science/article/2013-04/new-science-lsd-therapy
http://www.livescience.com/43894-acid-lsd-therapeutic-value-benefits.html
http://www.psychedelic-library.org/grofhist.htm
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lysergic_acid_diethylamide

Quote
LSD is not addictive.[8][9] However, adverse psychiatric reactions such as anxiety, paranoia, and delusions are possible.[10] LSD is in the ergoline family. LSD is sensitive to oxygen, ultraviolet light, and chlorine,[11] though it may last for years if it is stored away from light and moisture at low temperature. In pure form it is odorless and clear or white in color.[8] As little as 20–30 micrograms can produce an effect.[12]

The above quote is from Wiki and states that it is not addictive but I think the issue we are running into is the duration and amount. It also states 20-30 micrograms so I would presume I am looking to take a even smaller amount as to just help with anxiety.
To understand the two to three days after  mushrooms I would experience very little anxiety and would be much more aware of what was going on due to being pulled out of my head. Its how I would prefer to live instead of reacting to every slight that I feel was on purpose when in actuality people are not even aware due to being caught up in their own bullshit.

DEA:

Quote
“Although initial observations on the benefits of LSD were highly optimistic, empirical data developed subsequently proved less promising … Its use in scientific research has been extensive and its use has been widespread. Although the study of LSD and other hallucinogens increased the awareness of how chemicals could affect the mind, its use in psychotherapy largely has been debunked. It produces no aphrodisiac effects, does not increase creativity, has no lasting positive effect in treating alcoholics or criminals, does not produce a ‘model psychosis’, and does not generate immediate personality change.”[5]

I realize this may be offensive to some and written off as quackery by others.
As of right now I am just looking into it and thought maybe by chance some one else had gone down the same road.

There's no such thing as drug addiction. That's propaganda. Intelligent liberal people take drugs all the time and those drugs make them more intelligent. you should take big doses like I do.

That's a very broad and bold statement. I personally know several people who have become helplessly addicted to psychedelics and are constantly yearning for their next trip. They feel lost in reality. It's just fried brain, need the new stimulation at all times. It's sad, honestly.
Psychedelics are just as dangerous as other drugs.
Would you start snorting a bit of cocaine every time you needed to get through a long problem set or finish a presentation?

I think you must be using a different criteria for drug categories. Cocaine is not a psychedelic, so It does not apply to the topic.
Can you tell me the psychedelic drug your friends became addicted to?
As for the sad part, we are talking about a very minute amount to stimulate the brains network, its not to get high but seen as body hacking.
The very broad and bold statenent is based on the responses about addiction. Any one that has done pscychedelics will agree.

I was using cocaine as a point of comparison. Poorly worded, didn't mean to imply it was a psychedelic (obviously isn't). What I meant was, you likely wouldn't take another type of drug on this regular a basis as these articles suggest LSD.
2 friends to acid (or research chemicals meant to mimic it, i.e the 2c family), 1 to DMT, 1 to a mixture of mushrooms, LSD, 25i, and occasional DMT. The last one is the most foregone. Poor bloke is always tripping or smoking large amounts of spice/weed/salvia to break from reality (mostly tripping these days).

Drugs are different, you know. You might become seriously addicted if you are using opiates, that's for sure. I think some other drugs are addictive also but most of them psychologically addictive (like gambling), but not physically like opiates.
