I have well over 100 domains with Godaddy and Directnic.

I will consider moving them all if this is true. Moving domains cross registrars can be a lot of hassle though.

Takes less than a couple of hours for domains to move from Godaddy to Namecheap as long as you approve the request from both ends.

I wish I wasn't already a Namecheap customer so I could transfer my domains again. Very curious to see what happens once we get an official statement!

Once they've implemented this, someone should ask them to put up a page with step-by-step instructions on how to switch domains from, say, GoDaddy to Namecheap. I have several domains with GD and will gladly switch them over if Namecheap accepts BTC. But I'll need someone to show me how as if I was a six year old  Cheesy

lets ask godaddy about bitcoin payment. tell them about namecheap!

It's true, GoDaddy got burned last time they let Namecheap out-net-credibility them, and they may be scared of it happening again.

Yes Namecheap did very well with their SOPASucks promo code to take customers away from GoDaddy. http://venturebeat.com/2011/12/27/namecheap-offers-discount-for-domain-transfers/. The margins in this industry are very thin on single domain registrations so Bitcoin can allow Namecheap to be a fierce competitor against GoDaddy simply by eliminating credit card merchant fees and chargeback risk.

Concerned that blockchain bloat will lead to centralization? Storing less than 4 GB of data once required the budget of a superpower and a warehouse full of punched cards. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/87/IBM_card_storage.NARA.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punched_card

unfortunately though, you will get 100 emails which require 100 manual 'approval' clicks.

Once they've implemented this, someone should ask them to put up a page with step-by-step instructions on how to switch domains from, say, GoDaddy to Namecheap. here is the best guide i know of on the subject:

Go Daddy sucks, they do not support a free internet and even if they accepted Bitcoin (which is highly unlikely but I suppose possible if they wanted to cash in on it) they'd never get any of mine!

There were also rumors of GoDaddy snatching nice domain names if you have searched for them on their website. I haven't heard anything like that about NameCheap, they really seem to be an awesome company in many ways.
