You seem to imply that converting XRP to Ripple BTC IOUs is just as good as getting real BTCs for it. In my experience, this is utter nonsense!

For example, I converted a bit of XRP into Weex BTC IOUs and tried to withdraw it using their instructions. Guess what? Their IOUs disappeared from my account, but did NOT show on my Weex account, and their support does not even respond to my e-mails.

So, by all means play with Ripple system if you want to, but if you need to get a simple XRP->BTC trade, I'm offering a very  straightforward option.   

After the trade settles in Bitstamp.net's BTC IOUs simply go back to your bitstamp account and redeem them for BTC IOUs this time inside your bitstamp.net account, then transfer them out into your brain wallet.

Takes literally seconds to do.

Sure, until something happens to Bitstamp gateway as it happened to Weex, and you're stuck with IOUs that  are of no value. Debt instrument is NEVER as good as the real thing, no amount of word trickery can change this simple fact.

Isn't XRP an IOU based instrument and BTC  "the real thing"? but you are selling btc buying XRP
