In a very surprising turn of events, it turns out Silk Road 3.0 is back online after a lengthy absence. Several new security upgrades have been implemented, and the overall design has been changed as well. However, the people running the platform are still the same, by the look of things.

...As the name suggests, Silk Road 3.0 is the third iteration of this marketplace concept, albeit every new platform has been run by a different team. In January of 2016, Silk Road 3.0 went dark after security upgrades were announced, and things have been quiet ever since. However, as of last weekend, the platform resurfaced with a new design and the promised security changes.

It is also worth noting the owner of Silk Road 3.0 is – allegedly – the same person running Crypto Market, another deep web platform which went through a similar transition period earlier this year. Crypto market was shut down for several months as well and came back a few months ago with an updated security and login system.

Is there any prospect of a decentralised dark market on the horizon? The know how must be growing by the day. Surely this type of set up is past its best now.

WARNING WARNING WARNING

There are so many good DNMs out there, why would anyone go ahead and visit Silk Road 3.0? That's just plain stupid.
If you wanna do that why not just call the FBI/CIA for some coca right away..

Yeah mate it's very likely the feds are snooping around that place it's better to stay away and be safe. And I have heard that the TOR browser can be deanonymized and even using a VPN service in addition to that is not a 100% guarantee you won't be caught red-handed. What if the FBI themselves have set it up to attract all the Bitcoin misfits online lol  Roll Eyes

That's an illegal transactions if we buy on that site , i only use deepweb for some knowledge that i can read about  , for me transaction on that marketplace is very dangerous especially if we are traced by FBI.

With popularity of bitcoins, dark web is filled with markets accepting bitcoins for drugs.Glad to see Silk Road back, how many days it will last anyway ? I found an interesting read here https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/silk-road-3-0-back-will-last/

Apparently, they want to come back as a trusted brand this time...in a trust-less world!

Not a good and wise move by the owner in terms of presenting another version in which the last two were shutdown (normally when there's two failure versions, there shouldn't be a third one and only if the previous versions were a success, then that's the times for a better new version). I doubt there will be any difference here and it would be matter of time before history repeat itself. IMO the owner is trying to just earn again and since there will be illegal sales (again), then it wouldn't be suitable for normal and good users.

when did silk road go up to three versions, i guess i don't follow these things at all, all i remember from silk road was the huge market a couple of years ago that went down and the creator went to jail for it.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.

Care to explain in detail how can TOR browser be deanonymized ? I know a story about the worst persons on earth and their servers were caught by FBI , which injected a malware via Javascript, so any of the maniacs who clicked on the video links there, were fully deanonymized. Let me remind you this was back in 2013 and mainly Windows users were caught. Now the TOR users, are using TAILS an OS which don't leave traces that you actually used it. Still I have heard stories of people claiming TOR can be deanonymized but without solid proof as evidence, so I would like to hear more in this regard as  a TOR user myself not via TAILS but via some other Linux distro.

isnt that a good thing for bitcoin as a cryptocurrency? in my opinion there will surely be a lot more users of bitcoin when the silkroad is active so im mixed minded at the moment

besides that the price should grow then so it would allow usual investors such as me to make some decent money in the near future and i really want to becocme rich asap

It doesn't matter what Linux distro you are using TOR with, all that talk about not leaving any traces behind is a myth. Here is a top article that I found on the matter. You could find more by yourself. I don't use TOR myself but I would not rely on it to keep my shady business on the darkweb hidden forever.

Tor was briefly broken, for a few users (aprox 80) by Carnegie Mellon group, working for FBI (illegaly). Exploit patched soon after. Tor is as usual, safe.

edit: Article above is about hidden services with stationary servers, not tor surfers.

True friends, it is likely the FBI doing monitoring to those who do activities in the Deep Web. And if indeed it is true, most likely the FBI will easily perform logging and making arrests to everyone doing the activities there. Carefully As Friend

The fact that only websites (with low-decent amount of traffic) spoke about it means It's not really that legit because bigger websites would go deep into it and get more information's .

Yes could be the case.Probably a trap/sting operation.
However I don't really care as I do not use these markets.
