How to import money from my Paper Wallet

I am practicing how to make paper wallets.

I successfully made a paper wallet and i sent .001 btc to the paper wallet. Now my paper wallet has money in it (.001 btc)

Now, i am trying to export my money from the paper wallet.  But how do i do that?

I don't see any option in the bitcoin core client desktop wallet to scan Paper Wallet's QR,  so i am assuming it's not possible.


So what other options do i have to empty out my paper wallet and transfer the funds of it.

i don't know about scanning the QR code but any wallet that you use has an option to import your private keys which you should already have just type the private key in the respective section and import or sweep the private keys to a new bitcoin address.

too bad bitcoin core client doesn't have the option to import paper wallets, hope they add that in the future.



anyways i followed your instruction and i imported the private key in blockchain.info

it was hard to find, it's well hidden inside their website.


i imported it, although it gave me an error maybe because it was too low?   i only had  0.00001  in my paper wallet.


anyways now my balance is 0.00001  so i think it worked,,


i think i got the hang of paper wallets!

try using mycelium and scan the QR code for spend from paper wallet. after you scan the code it would show you the option to send to a bitcoin address with the funds from the paper wallet

i have a feeling that you are doing a lot of things wrong. it is very good that you are practicing first but you should pay more attention to details when it comes to your money.

check your balance to see how much in bitcoin or btc or BTC you own sometimes the unit of measurement is different in different wallets like uBTC so you don't get confused about 0.00001 and 0.001 btc

there is no blockchain.org if you are using the web wallet it is https://blockchain.info anything other than this address is fake and dangerous. also check the blockchain luxambourg R.A.R.L certificate before typing in your password.

Really? Ask the blockchain info's admin to import your paper wallet is what you're saying? That is just BAD advice, please stop doing this, you're not helping at all.

Thank goodness, OP was able to figure it out on their own. OP, read up on Electrum wallet, it can help you make cold/hot wallets and is much safer than any web wallet.

The easier way is login to https://blockchain.info/wallet there are an option for you to import your private key from your created paperwallet i always used blockchain wallet and works perfectly

open your paper wallet and copy the PRIVATE KEY. After that login to your blockchains.info account, go to https://blockchain.info/wallet/#/settings/imported-addresses hit 'IMPORT WALLET" and paste your private key.
