I received pm from TheRealSilk. There is new developers in work and they will open new [ANN]-thread soonish. I hope it's May/June.

So NODE is still alive and kicking, put your wallets online and support the network.
I opened this thread for discussion about NODE so there is not a total silence until new Ann-thread is opened by new develops.

I kept all my NODE's all this time of uncertainty, i guess that might turn out to be very wise decision after all. I hope you kept yours too. Patience is a virtue, as they say  Wink.
I can't wait to see a roadmap by new dev's.

So, if you have something to say about NODE, go on...

Does anybody know why the Ann-thread was closed ? To mee it seemed like just normal discussion thread, no giveaways or other wrong-doings in there.

They were always working on it.  I was seeing monthly posts and ads in Russian and Ukrainian.  I think where developers didn't succeed was because they were largely hostile to marketing and advertising.  Like not wanting to get on more exchanges.  Not writing press releases.  Not hosting booths at Bitcoin / Fintech events in Ukraine, even though they're probably the only domestic alternate.  NODE could learn from NEM, which saw a lot of expansion in Japan.  NEM has shown if you can build a powerful regional base then you can go into the top 10.  NODE needs to grow in Ukraine.

Let the core dev to officially declare the change of the dev team or a takeover is taking place. Once it is official, starting a new ANN topic is typically needed.

Maybe new dev-team are waiting this long before opening a new thread, because they want to have something to show first. New wallet with BTC-integration or some deal made with a bank/business or other good stuff... I hope.

When new dev's appear, could be a good idea to pay 3btc for spotlight in bittrex. Guite cheap marketing for new start of the project.

New dev-team should hurry up and make an announcement and reveal the roadmap they have. Nodehodlers are hungry for more info...

Why did nodecoin lose its popularity? Was there a fork in its early days, or some codebase problem that dissuaded people from using it?

Bter exchange hack.  NODE would hve 10x-20x bigger capitalization if it had been on more exchanges.

NODE had real tech with plenty of bag holders, so if the new dev turns up things could bounce back almost immediately.

Could even be a Crypti -> LISK styled swap/IPO to generate marketing funds, full escrow needed naturally after all the history, but with real tech and community support, why not?

NODE failed, but wasn't a scam afaik

I am sure that, if the dev's do not believe they could make progress for NODE and get real world adaption to happen, they would sell the code for someone else. There is still  good stuff like payment processor, instant transactions, lightweight blockchain done. I guess there is lot of value in that and buyer for the code is not too hard to find. So one way or another NODE will still bounce back and make a difference in the world of coins.

Do not trust NODE. One of the lead developers decided to scam a bunch of people.
