I recently bought a greendot moneypak card and put $280 on it thinking I would be able to immediately buy bitcoins with it. But instead, I cannot find anywhere I can buy any bitcoins with it if anyone is interested in the money on the greendot money pak card for bitcoins and wants to help me out it would be greatly appreciated

I don't deal in MP but a couple on the forum do.  Be SURE the person you are trading with is reputable or you can kiss that $280 goodbye.  If you have the slightest doubt demand escrow be used.

The combination of "moneypak", "$280","help", and noob status just made $$$ appear in the eyes of every 2bit scammer (yup just like in cartoons).

The least expensive way to recover might be to pick up a prepaid debit card (either a Green Dot one, or Walmart moneycard, etc.), and register it, deposit that MoneyPak into it, then use the card at an ATM to withdraw the cash back out.

Then use a cash deposit method to buy your coins.  For instance, BitMe offers a cash deposit method (at any Chase branch), BitFloor too (at any Bank of America branch), and ZIGGAP (Western Union), and BitInstant (7-11, Walmart, CVS, Moneygram).

If you still have the receipt for when you purchased the Moneypak and it shows that you paid cash for it then you might be willing to find someone who will trade with you on the #bitcoin-otc marketplace.

There's a little legwork involved to use that for trading as you need to set up GPG first, then register your GPG key with the #bitcoin-otc bot gribble which lets you authenticate and use the #bitcoin-otc IRC channel.
