You can lookup coin here: https://mint.btcc.com/lookupExample Series 2016 Titanium V Series Public Address 1Ab6wncZB7nr4uQiWATxuHdtVUK1hSnL6n Denomination 1 BTC Issue Date 2016-05-02 15:26:10 I just entered 1ab and found several coins, then I looked it up at blocktrail and several coins are fundend in 1 transaction: https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/address/1Ab6wncZB7nr4uQiWATxuHdtVUK1hSnL6n/transactionsI looks like they funded the coins straight from a new found block as far as I can see. If this is right that is rather cool. Not often you see coins funded from a new mined block. Looks like I am going to buy one.... Shipping (FedEx) for the boxed version is 0.13 BTC

Is this still a teaser? Seems like it. Need more details.
Funded? (Before or after shipping) Orders outside of China? Mintage?
EDIT: Looks like not numbered. So, likely not very limited as led on to believe.

As some others already said, they look better than expected from the teasers. Will there be an option for purchasing them unfunded in the future or is that not planned (as all coins should be "freshly mined")? I'd definitely be up for one of them, but only unfunded, as I don't want to lock up 1BTC in a coin currently.

You could buy one and redeem it when it arrives . That means trusting an unknown company with 1 BTC. No thank you. I tend to agree with Mitchełł. The issue of trust and security has not been discussed at all. If these coins are prefunded with 1 BTC, then are you trusting BTCC with a lot bitcoins. Not saying that they are intentionally planning a scam (even though it is still a concern) - but the way the private keys are generated, printed and handled should be of the concern of all potentially buyers. 1 BTC is not a small amount. Key to success is to be open about how security is handled; how are the keys generated? who handles them? what measures are done for long term preservation of the print? How is it secured that all traces of the private key is removed, hard-drive is demolished after production? The main concern here is that years from now, long after BTCC cease to exist, the suddenly are funds removed from the coins due to an unauthorized copy of the private key floating around. Or, you open the coin 10-20 years from now to redeem the coins and you find the private key paper completely deteriorated. Back in the days, new manufacturers was given a hard time when introducing new coins due to security concern, especially the higher denomination. Many new manufactures, handled this problem with the initial trust by introducing coins with small denominations, e.g. 0.1, 0.05 and 0.01. Here is the coin it self worth more than the coins loaded (with the BTC exchange rate at time of purchase) so the risk of future security is minimized. Other manufacturers handled this by releasing the coin as DIY. When that is said, the coin looks great and the concept of funding with virgin coins are brilliant.

IF we're going to redeem it on arriving anyway destroying the hologram , why not just provide DIY coins as well ...

Haven't decided if I want one or several of these coins yet. Like the idea of a new metal and the idea of newly gen coins. I am on the wall, actually against the idea, of unfunded / DIY coins. The issue I see is that new people involved in bitcoin have to understand at least something about bitcoin in order to check the coin. It scares people away when stories get out that they have to worry if the coin may or may not actually contain any bitcoins. The beginning days of Casascius was great. If someone gave you a coin, then you were good to go - you didn't need to go to some website and check a partial address to see if there was any value in the coin or not. Even the bearer bars were fine. Fortunately there was a low mintage of 100BTC bars that were actually unfunded (had a red mark in the window). Personal thought... I think all should be either funded or not. If funded, you could simply peel it and put your own label on it. I would be ok with the idea of selling them unfunded as in NO sticker/address at all.

Other manufacturers handled this by releasing the coin as DIY. When that is said, the coin looks great and the concept of funding with virgin coins are brilliant. I'm not sure I follow the concerns here. BTCC exchange is one of the more established players in Bitcoin, and the CEO Bobby Lee is a well known bitcoin advocate/entrepreneur. In fact, they might be the biggest company to date that offers a physical bitcoin of any kind. In terms of how keys are handled, the FAQ has a good explanation https://mint.btcc.com/faq "The private key under each coin’s hologram is produced on a computer that is not connected to the internet during the creation and printing process. The private keys are printed on a secure printer once and the soft copy of each private key is immediately destroyed, meaning that the only copy of the private key left is the printed private key under the coin hologram sticker. To ensure the highest security standards, the important process of attaching each private key underneath the hologram is performed by BTCC’s chief executive of officer Bobby Lee, or under his direct supervision." That said, I think they would have more success by offering a DIY option, especially if it meant they could ship to the US.

I like the design and the choice of metal used! I am not too worried about BTCC having the private keys and look forward to getting these coins. I prefer funded coins when given the choice since no one actually funds DIY coins...

Despite my worries, I am very tempted too. I like the concept of loading them with fresh coins. It is close to impossible to acquire virgin coins at this point. This tx is funding of some of their coins: https://blockchain.info/tx/8af2afb4487b274d67f16a5996748c6c9040326acb7cca5ef1d3d13a501b4196 Fresh from block 412445

I looked at this BTCC_Official's posting history, and he claims to be Bobby Lee in his first post. I guess the only way to know for sure is if he can post a signed message or something, though.

Darn, not shipping to the US? BTCC is missing out on a lot of sales. I'm sure that there are trusted members on here who'd be more than happy to help reship some coins. I actually think that there's a US group buy that may be using a re-shipper.
