I purchased a BM1384 USB Miner and I can't get this to work for the life of me.

- I use CGminer but have tried others and older versions with no success. CGminer is the only miner that recognizes my BM1384 USB Miner.
- I have the correct Zadig driver installed
- I have a powered 2.0 USB Hub
- I have WIN10
- I've worked on this the past few weeks and I've done the basic things, like followed the READ_ME's and run as admin and things of that nature

The error I get is, "Icarus detect failed to initialise, USB init, open device failed, err -3, you don't have privilge to access"

I'm lost, please help!

Try to post your commandline. That would be a great start.

I dont know anything about mining on Windows because I run everything on Linux boxes.
But I do some Windows administration in my daily job.
Everything with permissions is based on your user account.
Does your local user account have administrator permissions on that machine?
When you "run as administrator" do you get the popup box asking if you want to allow this program to make changes to your machine?
Have you tried plugging just one stick in directly to the machine? (Instead of usb hub)

I will have to look at some documentation for running CGminer on Windows later today.

My machine only has an admin account.
When i "run as admin" I do get that pop up window
Yes, I've tried to plug it in directly to my machine.

I have read through the thread and nothing has helped me, I've tried the basic plugging and unplugging, every usb port, the special cgminer download... It's something easy, I just haven't seen anyone who had this issue... it's some stupid setting or the stick is a dud.

I solved this by ejecting and inserting the miner stick. I do not know exactly how. Run the cgminer.exe as admin and re-insert the device and see if it works!
