Just bought my 1st game from steam using bitcoin, what a great way to pay.
How about you share some relevant information about this? Stating that you've just bought a game does not really help as it provides no information to the people reading the thread.

I would not trust those sites, like the other poster said, they may be stolen.. otherwise where is the business for them?
They are as legit as the "shared" accounts and cheap gift cards that are being sold on this forum. Roll Eyes

Smooth seamless with Bitpay?
I don't see why it would be any different as with the payments at other services that are involved with Bitpay.

Are you paying any premium or charged certain % more than regular payment methods?
I would not see the point of adding a premium to the prices, else there would be little reason to use Bitcoin.

I want to buy a game now on steam too using Bitcoin for the first time, but it's way too expensive, so I was considering buying a cdkey in some place like g2a, which is at almost half the price, but im too paranoid about the cdkeys that those guys are selling being stolen or something. I mean how can they sell a game for half the price? there must be something going on, and it's a new game.

If you're that paranoid, just go with the steam.

I know alot of gamers who paid for games at cheaper prices ended up not getting the game.

and there is a dude who offers giveaways on youtube and FB, he had the same issue with g2a and doesn't matter how many emails he send, he get the same shitty useless responses.

Don't be that guy, go for steam.

I have read complaints that some Steam keys bought from G2A are not working and it's a real hassle to contact customer support and fix the issues. I suggest buying directly from Steam with Bitcoins because the price may be a little higher but it's guaranteed that you will start playing right away with no problems. At least for me peace of mind is more important than saving a couple of bucks.

Xapo has a platform that allows you to purchase Steam/PC/XBox games and you can get via Bitcoins but had to pay 10 - 15% premium.

Steam the real deal has came! Smiley

I hope some company will come out that accept both credit card and bitcoin, then pay merchants using bitcoin on behalf of the users. The whole process should be very fast and secure.

what is this swarm of people using bitcoin on steam now, it has been about 1 or 2 months since they have started accepting bitcoin and more than 4 months ago the news about the possibility of it was released!

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

I also considered buying through them, until I saw the premium prices asked for those games and I turned it down. I do not know why services like this try to exploit people, because they should try to promote Bitcoin with lower prices and discounts, but they just do the opposite.

I will now buy through Steam and skip these dodgy alternatives.

It's a very healthy development that Steam has accepted Bitcoins. I recall last year, Microsoft accepted Bitcoins as well but no further news came out of it.

I suspect once the price of BTC stablises, there will be more formal adoption by corporations.

IIRC, did Dell accept Bitcoins once?

OP, how did you pay exactly? I know you said using bitcoin, but did you have to load your Steam wallet first using bitcoin or did you pay for your game directly with bitcoin or what/how exactly?

Great to see Steam accepting Bitcoin! I hope they will continue to accept Bitcoin.

I will check it out and also try to buy a game or two with Bitcoin. I strongly urge every Bitcoiners to do so too. Even though we can get cheaper game with Bitcoin from stores like G2A and Key4Co.in, we should support Steam. If there is only a few Bitcoin transactions between Steam and Bitcoiners, Steam may consider to stop accepting Bitcoin.

Let's all buy a game or two with Bitcoin on official Steam. Smiley.

So sad! This profile does not appear as the #1 result (on anonymous) Google searches anymore.

Can't wait to see Paypal fade away. Their fees are astronomical.

Well, they have some sort of security system, the so called "g2a shield" or something like that, that supposedly guarantees that it will work. Of course, I refuse to believe that something shady isn't going on when people is able to find keys for a triple A brand new tittle like the new Doom game, for half the price that it is on Steam...

So finally it was implemented ? Last time I heard something about that, it was when womeone said that in reading the beta code he found a mention to Bitcoin. Nice for you and for all the community !

I think the article dated from a few weeks ago. So they sure took their time. However it's good to see some big company is accepting bitcoin as a payment option. If google and amazon would do the same, I wonder what the market cap would be like.

The combination between Bitcoin and Steam is working in a great way and is paying off. The fact that paying with Bitcoins is faster and easier can be the factor of attracting more people to both Bitcoin and Steam.

Congratulation man, you miss one point. I think you have also payed very little fee compared to payment via card. I have paid 10% fee today in withdraw from my visa card.  Angry

We need independent bitcoin atm card not related to visa nor to mastercard.
it would be impossible since bitcoin is decentralized not like a fiat which is centralized and have a bank, and bitcoin is not getting legalized yet in so many countries

But a card could work at a Bitcoin ATM couldn't it?  It would basically just be your wallet which you scan into an exchange/atm, which can spit out fiat.
I could also work through Bitpay I guess.

I think it all misses the point of Bitcoin a little though.  Why can't a shop just have a 2d barcode for me to scan and pay directly?  Why do I need a card?  Why do they need a bank account?
