So I sent 3.325 BTC to my Blockchain.info wallet. Seven seconds later those bitcoins disappeared from my address and were forwarded to an address that is not mine. This second transaction seems to be bogus as the network is not confirming it.

I presume blockchain.info wallet will drop this bogus transaction and put the coins back in my balance after a day or so.

But what could have caused this? Was this a hacker and if so, what was his strategy?

You sure that the address was generate on blockchain.info, and not another eWallet service like MTGox? If so,your wallet might be compromised.

Yeah, pretty sure.

I did use the address to send BTC to Gox last year, but Im pretty sure that I didnt upload the private key to Gox.

I dont think anyone else has the private key, if they had they would have sent a valid transaction that confirmed and instead of one that hasnt confirmed.

Oops! The missing BTC have just now appeared in my old Gox account.

I must have uploaded the private key last year when depositing funds.

Sorry for the false alarm.
