I wasn't even aware that ETH pump & dump went into round two. Thanks for providing the information. However, please keep the altcoin discussions within the altcoin section. With Rootstock around the corner, ETH is pretty much useless. For those that do not know what Rootstock is, click this.

Lol Rootstock :-) If you have to go off chain to use it and get their special tokens for this, you might just as well go totally off bitcoin for smart contract solutions.

Off-chain? Transacting on a sidechain is different from transacting off-chain. RootStock provides the missing part in the already, well established, Bitcoin infrastructure. ETH has almost no infrastructure and is realistically worth only a fraction of the current market cap. That however does not mean that BTC adopters should miss out on profiting from the ride. I don't understand the fuss about ETH (aside from the opportunity to profit).

you might just as well go totally off bitcoin for smart contract solutions.
That's not even comparable.

I think VB dumped some large amount of his own ETH holding some time ago, but surely he has some left.

The devs' share was specified before the launch, but can't recall what it was (something like 10% to be split among all devs?).

You can always ask them on reddit.

Asking about Ethereum in a Bitcoin forum doesn't make a lot of sense. Perhaps somebody on an Ethereum site might have an answer.

That's right! Let's change the question to: "What is the net BITCOIN holdings of Ethereum founders?"

well there was the premine.. and then the sell off to the early investors (of 2015(again pre-release))
then there was the few main ether dev's/founders who have now jumped off the ether band wagon..

all in all it doesnt matter how much they are holding.. the bubble is gonna burst.

atleast VB will get some more money on the interview/conference tours. but as for anyone else.. ether seemed good, but will soon go the same way as ripple

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

Perhaps not, if Blockstream can keep this up:

i think he had 400k etheruem, because he sold 25%, for in exchange of $1M, when etheruem was 0.025 and bitcoin 400, if you do the math you come up with that number

Seems like he believes a lot in his own project.

That's right! Let's change the question to: "What is the net BITCOIN holdings of Ethereum founders?"
Now you're asking the right questions.

No. Nobody is using ETH because they're experiencing delays while transacting.

I have heard all kinds of thins mostly that vitalik has something arount 500,000 to 1,000,000 coins to start with. but I know that he sold 25% of his stash a while back worth it was about a thousand dollars dump.

also ethereum foundation has a very big stash too. they have sold a small portion of it in the last pump and that small portion was about ~1,800,000 coins

Many seem to believe ETH will hit $50 or even $100 in the next coming weeks, if it comes to be true, the founders will probably regret selling for $20, or maybe not... since they have made a ton of money and still hold a big portion of ETH.

Still people aren't getting it.

Bitcoin in itself is insanely small but in some ways still "big".

Apple - 650+ BILLION
Google - 350+ BILLION
Microsoft - 290+ BILLION
Yahoo - 30+ BILLION
etc.

What is Bitcoin worth? A measly 7+ BILLION. Even fucking Yahoo! is worth more than Bitcoin!!!!

The market at which Ethereum targets has the potential to enter the 100+ BILLION mark.

OKAY so that seems like a stretch?

10+ BILLION definitely is not when you consider the above facts.

Ethereum can easily be worth more than Bitcoin but again not by being a currency - though I still believe people may start using Eth as a currency after passing Bitcoin in value.

Initial ETH about 60,000,000 priced at about $0.30
So early investors had to come up with $18 million in BTC = real money.

It was not some magic premine like 90% of shitcoins.

80% of the original ETH went to Development (salaries $45k to $175K/year totaling $1 million/year)...
20% was a free gift to about 50-70 "founders" on a sliding scale...
Because each founder was a high-profile Bitcoin "celebrity" that would now promote ETH.
Well known "founders" got about 300,000 ETH at $0.30 which is worth $4 million today.

I saw the Toronto Bitcoin Meetup became Toronto Ethereum Meetup overnight by buying off Anthony Diorio...
300,000 ETH will make most people do pretty much anything.

Vitalik got about 540,000 ETH plus a salary > $100K/year in ETH and has been paid about 1,000,000 ETH directly...
But probably has made many, many millions of ETH via side deals.

So if the slock.it dudes like Tual got millions of dollars of ETH for free...
Why are they building a massive trough where Insider Bovine can chomp on free ETH?

Up until DAO it's all quite brilliantly played out. Personally, I think the DAO verges on fraud.

According to the following thread from 2014:

https://forum.ethereum.org/discussion/11/founders-and-issuance

12.5% of the pre-mine was given to the founders, with a time-lock of 1 year. So they could start selling from 2015 onwards - we don't know how much they've sold. Given the spike a couple of months ago, I'd be surprised if they didn't sell some. I think Buterin sold 25% a few months ago - but we don't know how much he sold in 2015.

That's crazy.  But amazing lol.  But well good for the ETH guys in a way who are working at it.  But who are teh whales behind the scenes pushing ETH with their bots like this??? If it wasn't for that it'd still be worth $1usd...??
