When you use a hosted (shared) EWallet you are sending your money to someone else to hold.  You must trust them that when you wish to send a payment or withdraw that your request will be honored.

While I don't know of any reports (good or bad) about ZenWallet, [Edit: At least one report of "BAD", .. see below] I do see the domain was registered anonymously.

Anonymously run EWallets don't have a great track record in the bitcoin ecosystem, starting with MyBitcoin, TORWallet, and on ever since.

At the same time, they provide another E-Wallet option and have been around for over half a year.


For small amounts you might consider this wallet method for manual mixing purposes perhaps where the benefits offset the risk.   They do charge a fee for each transaction so if it does get used there is incentive for the operator to keep it alive and growing versus just running with the funds.

tl:dr; If there were a question raised as to how one could acquire coins and then disappear without a trace, this would be an example of how it could be done.

I searched online before I used ZenWallet, but I didn't find anything bad except for this post. I really should have been more cautious =\

I lost about $200 worth of BTC.

I should have known better. One of the early warning signs was that it took many hours for my deposits (I did 2 deposits, he took everything 3 hours after I made my second deposit) to show up on ZenWallet. Now I realize that was because his wallet system is not programmed. He manually posts the BTC balance on the wallet. This is for sure, because my ZenWallet still reads 4.422276 BTC even though he took everything on March 12th at 11:42PM.

I E-Mailed him at the address on his website, but of course he never responded.

For the transfers he mirrored the exact amounts of my deposits. I'm not sure why he bothered to do that, besides the fact that he's obviously spreading his stolen BTC across many different Bitcoin Addresses. It did confuse me at first because I'm a new Bitcoin user, but it still didn't take me long to realize what had happened.

It appears that his main scam address is http://blockchain.info/address/13ttkWEeHgWAmLKpx3ypBJALrTDAWMfNdk , he's got $12.1k in that one address alone... This guy is making a shit ton of cash on his ZenWallet.org scam.

I wish I could find him and break every bone in his body, but alas that is impossible. So here's a fair warning to anyone else who is considering using ZenWallet.org, DON'T DO IT!
