haha, last time I have checked it was not so dead, why are you saying that ?
don't try to find a good argument in these  " 'x' coin is officially DEAD" threads.
Just a bunch of holders of another coin trying to draw attention, specially when the thread is about dash or monero...

I just found your claim that monero didn't develop anything new ridiculous...
I didn't want to FUD, it was what was said on several channels but I - my mistake - did not check it.
Maybe it was meant that monero did not develop some of the privacy stuff monero is associated with?

Anyways no harm intended, just trying to separate scams from real projects, and those into those with good marketing and those with real development potential.

no problem, and indeed, xmr was forked from bytecoin and based on entirely different protocol than bitcoin (cryptonote)... The fact that it's not a bitcoin-fork (like the absolute majority of all crypto's) means everything has to be built from scratch, also the codebase xmr inherited from bytecoin was really messy etc, that's why development seems slow... but lots of developments already happened since launch in april 2014... just not the really visible kind (like a bling bling GUI, which actually is almost ready now)...

xmr had a fair launch, no ico, no mining rewards going to devs etc...
xmr doesn't have a marketing team
don't buy xmr  Wink

edit, if you do want to learn more about xmr to see if it's a scam or not, if it has development potential or not:
short introduction: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZi9xx6aiuY
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEVm1dMn5Ks  (great presentation, ideological and technical)
http://weuse.cash/
https://moneroeric.com/blog/
http://monero.stackexchange.com/  (btw: xmr is only the third crypto to have its own stackexchange (btc en eth were first), this shows it has a strong and active community), by all means ask questions there if you want...

Well, your arguments do not really stack up.

Bytecoin which Monero was forked from has 100% refactored code - and managed to release gui as well as many of the 'under the hood' changes that Monero fan boys claim is taking place with their code to excuse the absence of visible ones.

Refactored node
RocksDB Database
New API
Blocksize increase
Fusion Transactions
On-blockchain aliases

many, many more

Then, when;

a:)They can't provide an argument or evidence to support their case
b:) They can't delete said arguments by deleting them from their 'scientology' style threads

They resort to nasty tactics like spamming peoples trust (proof? Take a look at mine - no bad trading just Monero trust spamming) or attacking people in random threads that have nothing to do with Monero.

They kept to their own moderated thought-police threads, to a large extent, after the great Spamero Backlash but this recent pump seems to have emboldened them again.

not dead but with zcash/zclassic and zcoin, is seriously overshadowed, because those coin offer better anonymity so monero is a bit pointless now, why i should it on the dark web instead of zcash, which has also a better name?

yeah well, here are some numbers for you: https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/5ep3mc/what_i_am_grateful_for/
if too laze to click I'll quote: "Monero has had 7,440 commits made by 167 contributors representing 387,411 lines of code or an estimated 102 person years of effort"

but that's probably all fake off course...

I guess you now know what remains of your credibility

because monero's anonimity-features actually work, because monero has protocol-level-privacy (not optional privacy like zcash), because monero didn't use a trusted setup, because with monero there are no mining rewards going to the devs, because anonymous transactions in xmr don't require 8 Gib RAM and still take 2 minutes, because xmr isn't a corporate coin but actually a truly grassroots open source project with a large and active community, because xmr-cryptography is thoroughly tested and peerreviewed (zcash-crypto is not), because monero has actual usability, ...need I go on...

don't get me wrong, zcash technology is very interesting, but the way it is conceived now is a big no no, maybe in 10 years...

@eaLiTy. The news that the darknet market is accepting Monero is taken out of context and it was really overhyped. The fact is only merchants in Alphabay is accepting Monero and it is not even gaining some traction because that acceptance is dwindling. The merchants still prefer bitcoins and are going back to it. Also I do not think drug addicts know that Monero exists. Grin

I agree with this, those news just making the hype up which monero is being started to be used on the darknet but not on general because its being used only on alphabay but still people would really think that this is the beggining of the development or adoption of monero just like what happen to bitcoin at the first place but  same as you said most people there will surely go back to bitcoin.

I know bitcoin still have the big hype.  It was a rumours, even I haven't heard about the reliable source was saying about that, which mean there wasn't the definite data for that.

When the Marshall's are auctioning off Morono coins they will be looking for all you associated with it and they will be making sure to stop by places like Poloniex where you gave your picture ID.  Cheesy

And you guys summed it up nicely with the big Dark Market hype let down..
That is all it ever had going for it.
There is no other game plan.. if that failed then call it a day guys.

AKA: Dead shitcoin with lame pointless stupid gimmick tacked on.

Morono is dead.

Well, looking at your track record of predicting things about XMR I guess it must be very alive and kicking, on 2 january 2016 you posted this:

MONERO is your winner loser.

(wasn't hard to find by the way, you write an eulogy for xmr about every 2 weeks...)

now let's look at the chart:

Poor Sputz, missed a 1000% price increase in BTC and 1500% price increase in King $$$

Is that why you're so angry all the time?

Lulz, same shit different day, post some evidence of your claims (dwindling acceptance) please... Everyone in their right minds would use XMR for said transactions, especially with the btc-blocks being spammed and fees rising, with chain-analysis, with KYC, ...

ah well, next year you might miss another 1000% runup in xmr and still be talking about king bitcoin...

in regard to rewards going to dev, you can choose zclassic, which has no this issue and the community is small because is still new, monero has been here since 2 years already if not wrong, also there is zcoin, which has a better form of anonimity than zcash

Monero still has a chance to shine if Bitcoin fails to deliver increased privacy. Like it or not, there will always be people in dark markets buying questionable shit... so there's a big market. As far as exchanges goes.. exchanges like Shapeshift under a VPN should provide sufficient privacy to exchange BTC for XMR.

In any case, not that I think XMR will be able to challenge a supercharged Bitcoin once we have sidechains, mimblewimble, confidential transactions and all of those.
