You can't mine it.

This is a token, issued on the ethereum blockchain. You can mine the underlying asset , ether, but you can only mine the underlying asset, not the token. It has to be distributed by the issuer.


I want to say something smartass, but I'm too chill at the moment (stout couple fingers of brandy). You should really research eth before you do this, you are about to throw resources at something you don't have a solid understanding of yet. Never invest in an asset you have not done diligence on.

The Dao isn't a coin. It is a smart contract on the Ethereum blockchain. The smart contract does have tokens that are tradable and allow you to vote on proposals. However, you are probably correct. After 6 or 7 months it will probably be split all over the place and depleted by a bunch of proposals that don't earn anything or are scams.

No one may be selling it, but of the 63 proposals made so far, 54 of them are to split; which means these people want to try and get their ETH back. Hopefully, these people will be successful and not be subjected to the stalking attack...
