I posted my reply to your first post before reading your second one. It's to maintain and see what an actual AM share value is (compared to PT shares). This was just an idea; if people don't like it, that's fine too. Are we prepared to have AM share threads spam the Auction sub forum?

I'm saying that AM trading activity on the forums seems to have dried up, as people are starting to trust the passthroughs. It's not like it was a month ago, where there were like twenty threads going.

I thought it was valuable until I realized that both passthroughs allow transfers in and out of actual ASICMINER shares, so one can just buy on exchange and transfer them to yourself if you want to own the "real shares".

I'm not going to stop you, and I might even use it just to have all my bases covered, but I don't really see the NEED anymore.

Its not that easy as you claim. You have to own at least 240? shares from deadterra to change them to real shares. I dont know if its possible with the other passthrough anyway. But i believe you can change your real shares in passthroughs with both issuers. So that doesnt look to me like this thread isnt needed anymore.

Please ALWAYS contact me through bitcointalk pm before sending someone coins.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Well asiminer-pt on btct.co has a 50 share minimum for exchanging into real shares, which is the same as the thread minimum anyway. However, maintaining the thread is a lot of work, that does in my opinion bypass the benefit gained, when people are free to do separate threads if they are so inclined.

Do be aware that over 13% (and growing) of all outstanding ASICMINER shares HAVE been transferred to the PT exchanges.

I'd say this, if there is a profusion of folks doing willy nilly threads for asicminer shares than we should reconsider the orderbook, if not probably not worth the work. (In any case I won't be doing the work, so don't let me stand in anyone's way.)

Yes, i read know too that the minimum with burnside is lower, even though he wrote actually with "no minimum shares". Im not sure whats true but at least it would work as a replacement for this thread.

If we only traded shares through passthroughs, wouldn't the smaller market result in higher prices?

In case some didnt notice... the thread doesnt live anymore. If you claim bids or asks you have to be lucky that someone comes by and wants to fulfill your order. Dont forget using an escrow then.
But the normal orderbook wont be created again. You have to solve this through PMs personally with the seller/buyer.

Please ALWAYS contact me through bitcointalk pm before sending someone coins.

Is this thread really dead? I mean if someone would post here an offer that could be filled fast and another user sees it then this thread could lead to a sell without new threads coming out everywhere.
I mean there mustnt be an orderbook when buyer and seller chose for themselve where to buy/sell and contact via pm...
