LISK launch day has not gone well for ICO participants. (Where are all the LISK sigs now??).

WAVES is next. Every page has a WAVES sig on it at this time. I wonder if they'll still be there on WAVES launch day? These are crypto defining moments believe it or not.

IPO/ICO fever will now hopefully come to an end. Investing in ideas with no infrastructure is always a bad idea. I'm beginning to lose faith/hope in the future of crypto. I never thought I would feel that way.

Not sure how a DDoS attack and web dev. / team planning failure means that the idea has no infrastructure. ICO participants even with current prices on exchanges are up X3 or more. at the moment. The infrastructure is working and online, the website client is down.

That being said, i'm not a lisk holder but I do believe that it has potential, these are all new ideals for technology and it's gonna have growing pains. If you get into it for a "get rich quick" idea you won't be happy possibly or it may pan out one day but don't put your eggs in one basket on the heels of what might as well be penny stock. If you get into it to try and push the boundaries of the way systems operate now and do your due diligence on project I don't think you'll be upset at all.

It's not just that. It's the whole crypto industry.

By now I would expect more from some of these crypto 2.0 teams. At least a proper working wallet for one of them. There is lots of talking but nothing being released. Try and watch the DAO contract investment on an ETH wallet and it will crash. So how will participants in this DAO vote?? People have been saying (and I'm beginning to agree) that even the most crappy crapcoins have better infrastructure than most of these new crypto 2.0 outfits. How long to develop something that works? 1 year? 2 years? They have the $'s now so what's the problem?

And crypto anyways. In 30 years time how big will all these blockchains be? How about 100 years? How will they be managed? How to sync a new client in 20 years time? (Yes, easy, ship the blockchain with the client). Should we just accept that tech will come along that will allow blockchain generation and storage to continue indefinitely into the future? Is anyone even talking about this?

I'm beginning to think that something else needs to spring up and kill off this libertarian dream turned capitalist nightmare called crypto that seems to be heading nowhere. Right now it seems to be all about converting to BTC and out to fiat. Nothing more.

Not going well is the understatement of the day. Man, LISK went shitshow clusterfuck. My language be damned. So badly, I wonder if it wasn't halfway intentional. Was it a ddos, or did they genuinely not plan for a foretold number of participants?

I don't think this ico shit is over yet. The enthusiasm to throw money at the unknown is too great around these parts.

Lets make some Waves!

I'll just quote myself on this one:

The more i think about it, the more I come to the conclusion, that the DDoS attack on the Lisk network might have been a blessing in disguise. With exchanges being available from the very beginning, a lot of people were going to dump their Lisk as fast as possible, but they couldn't, which slowed down the dump. The buy orders were there and would have been filled either way, but if they would've been filled faster, a downward spiral of FOMO and panic sells would haven been probable.

Most likely, Waves won't have that. We will see how this affects the price exactly, but I think there is a good chance that Waves will hit prices just above ICO range, at least for a short period of time (I know about the buywalls by the Waves team, I think they will hold).

Additionally, Lisk bounties were paid out after the Mainnet was up and running, so bounty collectors dumped them on a big and healthy market. We will see a lot of Waves bounty colletctors cashing out right at the beginning.

I don't think the launch has gone so bad.
They are moving very fast (!= moving well of course) but the community, their forum and chat is very active.
I'm positive about this project and I look forward to developing something on it Smiley

Erm, there is NO such thing as an ETH shill. Ethereum is an amazing tech that, to those with the intelligence and understanding to appreciate it, so there is no need to sell or promote it. You don't have the intelligence to understand and appreciate it. That in itself is okay because you lack the cognitive resources, after all you are only born with what you are born with. But that doesn't mean others suffer likewise. 2 years from now Ethereum will be at least $100. LISK will be dust.

Imagine if both do well. Now what would BTT have to complain about? I was introduced to Ethereum at the Miami conference and head about Lisk and Waves towards the beginning. For the rational investor, it's never about us vs them, it's about making sound decisions.

Waves learned some lessons from the Lisk launch, that's a healthy part of projects evolving.

I really hope Waves have learnt.

It's the quality of software being released that's depressing. We're meant to be moving towards consumer adoption but we seem to be moving away from it.

Would anyone in this forum trust their mother with an ETH wallet (and $100 worth of ETH preloaded onto it)? Would anyone trust their child to start it up and download the blockchain??

If another project team released such unreliable software they would be crucified. I'm not a hater just amazed that people aren't calling them out on the lack of.... well, anything!

With so many of the new crowdsale/ICO/ICO/CallItWhatYouWantSale offerings, any consumer adoption seems to have been completely sidetracked and forgotten (but it doesn't matter as long as crypto boys are making profit).

But no worries, we're up from $8bn to $11bn total market cap (with some market caps over $1m with less than $100 daily volume...)

It's all good

Waves team and project is a different ballgame, the team has done everything flawless. That's why it raised over 30k BTC, solid and talented team so expect alot to come from this one bringing the best of blockchain and banking in one platform.

Im not sure "bad" is the correct term it was more of a complete clusterfuck.
As for waves, who knows how it goes, hopefully they learned from the mistakes Lisk made and will prepare accordingly.

The guys are very pro. I wish the platform can really be working well with fiat though.

WAVES have a lot of side projects, including national currencies for all countries. What Lisk offered? You can't compare these projects, they are moving in different roads. You can only compare ICO amount and market price, well technically WAVES offer more so Lisk won't compete with it.

RISE is next.

Let's see what they have ready at launch. If ETH and LISK wallets are the defacto crypto 2.0 standard then I really I don't envy ICO perps. So far, standards are low.
