The leadership under Bitcoin Foundation present executives has been a laugh.  Total rubbish.  Without leadership there, Greg Maxwell took over Bitcoin and ran it straight into the ground.

The only way to save bitcoin from an early death is to have Andreas Antonopoulis take a CEO role and guide the ship.  Maxwell fucked it all up.  Only Andreas will be able to right the ship at this point.

The irony is, Andreas would never take this role.  He is fully against such centralization.  It was an amazing weird series of events that led to the unraveling and disintegration of Bitcoin.  Fun to watch.  Didn't cost too much.

Andreas Antonopoulos is wise and that's why he will never take this job and that's why he never agreed on proving Satoshi Nakamoto identity when Craig  wright crap started ... unlike Gavin Andersen.

I don't think Andreas Antonopoulos has the technical skills required to be a bitcoin mechanic.  However, he is an amazing speaker and an incredible promotional ambassador for the bitcoin community.  I think that if he took a more active central role in the project, he would lose some diplomatic credibility.  His role in the project is no less important than any of the core team....in those regards, he IS a core member.  I think that his influence on the project is irreplaceable.  Nobody else can fill his position and we need him to hold his ground.

If we want change, then we should speak up and campaign utilizing the consensus protocol....

Key point. He would do well, we could pick worse imo, he actually cares, but I don't think he would bite.

Understand there is a bit too much capital in BTC at the moment to "die". Larger players have a stake in this now, and China will mine 1g blocks if it's that or nothing. The situation has simply not gotten dire enough to force anyone's hand atm.

Wait and watch. And bring popcorn.

TBF is a bad joke and needs to remain in the ground.

He did no such thing. You can't "take over Bitcoin".

The only way to save bitcoin from an early death is to have Andreas Antonopoulis take a CEO role and guide the ship.
There is no "CEO of this ship".

Maxwell fucked it all up.
No.

Only Andreas will be able to right the ship at this point.
Possibly, but not necessarily.

The technology is there, why would you necessarily need someone to represent it?
Why would you need leadership to make bitcoin succeed?

Andrea is a great personality. I had the chance to attend one of his talk, and the chance to talk to him afterwards.
He advocates for bitcoin all the time, what do you want him to do more?

Due to the decentralized nature of Bitcoin, nobody can represent it. If they were able to, then it would not be decentralized anymore.

Why would you need leadership to make bitcoin succeed?
Very few people think that we do. I disagree with it though, Bitcoin does not need a leader of any kind.

Andrea is a great personality. I had the chance to attend one of his talk, and the chance to talk to him afterwards.

He's doing quite a lot; there's no need to increase his current workload.

Andreas is considered one of the most respected Bitcoin advocates because he doesn't take sides and tries (hard) to appear neutral. And it's not only about blocksize, but also about altcoins etc.

If he was to declare his support to one 'camp' (or one roadmap), he'd lose a chunk of his credibility and trust from the opposing group.

And that's my only problem with him. He's too neutral, almost like a politician who tries to please everyone.

He is doing good job promoting Bitcoin, but he is very open minded for altcoins as well. I believe smart contracts could be implemnted with Bitcoin or one of its sidechain in future, so there is no need to be so open minded for altcoins, and instead put the energy how to integrate it in Bitcoin itselves.

So I dont think he could ever be best Bitcoin spokeperson because he seem to have conflict of interests in altcoins as well.

The leadership under Bitcoin Foundation present executives has been a laugh.  Total rubbish.
TBF is a bad joke and needs to remain in the ground.

Bruce Fenton is still clinging to it. He writes letters and hosts shindigs. It's all very relevant.

Do not underestimate Andreas Antonopoulos 's technical knowledge. Just read his books and look at his CV to see how much knowledge he has. Andreas Antonopoulos is one of the best ambassadors for Bitcoin, if you look at the way he interacted with the Canadian senate. He should not be a politician, because they will not be able to keep up with him.

His views might be a bit over the top sometimes, bordering on extremist and much to liberal for the average person on the street. You have to be very open minded to deal with this jackal. ^smile^
