What happened:: heatplay took a loan from me and put his account as collateral, then he defaulted, so I kept the account, after some time he got it back from forum admins by claiming it was hacked/stolen/lost

Amount Scammed: 0.008 BTC
Payment Method: Bitcoin
Proof of Payment: https://blockchain.info/tx/765cb6cdd5f9c285ebc0137395b37f4852a4f37f8fda39b7cd65c087731c5e44
PM/Chat Logs:
Additional Notes: I don't really care about the money or the account, it's a newbie account with no value, I just want do denounce him as a scammer and how he tricked the admins/mods of this forum.
Also for lenders to not give loans with accounts as collateral as this might happen to you too. For me it's a small amount and a not so interesting account, but for others it may be for bigger amounts and higher ranking accounts.

I wanted to have faith in humanity and 0.008 seemed not so much, and it was a sum I could afford to lose. He also seemed very attached to his account to the point he used social engineering to get it back.
Lesson learned for me, i never accounts as collateral anymore even from high ranking members. You all here seen what happened with Boeleens.
Thanks to all who red tagged him.

Do you still have faith in humanity after this incident lol.

Btw the collaterals usually have the same value and the newbie account you held was no where near it.

There is also another step, where you can take the escrow terms of sending or releasing small amounts at a time then all at once.

Didn't take long for you to get burned,  did it?  I suggest not taking any accounts as collateral,  for the additional reason that they tend to get sold to scammers or are otherwise used for scams.  Nothing good comes of it, I don't care what anyone else says.

To be honest, yes, I still have faith in humanity, scammers should not make us lose our kind hearts, just be more carefull in the future.

Thats a nice thing to say. Anyways mate, i 100% agree with you that you should never accept any bitcointalk account as collateral. Its not worth-it. Take some alt-coin or some other valued collateral instead. All the best mate.

But you didn't know he was attached to the newbie account until after you were scammed. 0.008 is almost $4, I've seen people scam for much less.

I am curious to know why the admins bothered recovering such a low level account when others have been waiting for months to have their account restored that are fairly clearcut cases that they are the legit owners of their account.

What is more interesting is that one of your reference links mentions that he was trying to reset his PW via email, and I am wondering if he might have somehow tricked you into giving him the link to reset his password that was emailed to you.

It took 2 weeks for the admins to give him back his account and no he did not trick me into giving hime the link to restore his email, he just tricked the admins who I think should have read a bit about him before giving him back the account, they could have seen that he gave me the account as collateral for a defaulted loan.

Do you have any proof that it was the admins that gave him the account back? I am very doubtful, as much higher ranked (and trusted) accounts have sat dormant for months after being hacked with no admin intervention. Why would the admins give attention to some untrusted Newbie account over others?

This is likely human error of some description; not admin intervention.

Owner of the account probably reset his password via email. Highly unlikely that Theymos would've recovered it for him. People been sitting on hacked hero accounts for half a year. These issues falls under low priority for the admin so i guess the one who has been tricked is you OP

In any case, if you pass by and see this scam accusation just leave a negative feedback on him, i don't car about the account or the money just to denounce him.
