I have a Casascius Bitcoin bar purchased from back in 2014 somewhere in my room and I was wondering what would you guys value it at? It had only 1 BTC on it and came unloaded but is a gold plated bar with the sticker unpeeled. The short public key was 1GcM16RM. What would you guys pay for it?

How much did you buy it for? I'd say 20-40% more than what you paid for it, as it has a great collector's value.

Maybe even 50%, if the holo is unpeeled, some people will value that a crapton more.

looking for a signature campaign, dm me for that

Well I think I got ripped off for it paying somewhere in the region of £5000 ($7300) for it unloaded and so I just left it somewhere. It's unpeeled and in some plastic packaging that was never opened.

Im not really worried about whether or not you guys believe me lol. I know I have it and I'm just seeing what people are willing to pay for it.

That is the full public key and I own the wallet that filled the bar.

Ok. It's nowhere near worth the $7000.. More likely around $200-$500 max.

Add your username to the pic if you want people to believe you but nobody really cares because your not selling it just checking value.

If that really is your one, what have you done to that baby?
It looks like it's been through hell, your room must be like mine  Cheesy

Seriously i don't think it would have come from casascius like that, what the hell did you do to it?

Yeah just added an image in my previous post of it

Why would you say a gold bar funded with 1btc may be worth less than the bitcoin itself?

Shoved it in a cupboard full of crap for its entire life lol. Rather keep it for that price to be honest and just keep loading it up.

Meant the bar value without bitcoins. Funded with 1BTC probably lowers the value of the bar itself.

Because that is not a 1BTC bar?
It's an unloaded bar that later was stuffed with 1BTC by OP.
Just have a look at the hologram, saying "ZERO BTC" on both sides of the firstbits.

Meant the bar value without bitcoins. Funded with 1BTC probably lowers the value of the bar itself.
I have to agree.

Post this in the collectibles section to get more attention.

Also, don't keep loading it unless you're planning on redeeming it for sure.

I am sorry to hear it.

Value....
Most people buy this stuff in BTC instead of dollar.

I have a couple of these (or more) and I paid from .85BTC to 1.2BTC each
Bitcoin value during my purchases were higher than now.  Maybe $550.  I didn't go by the dollar amount since, again, most go by the BTC amount when purchasing these.

That said, many were sold on ebay.  Many posted for around $1000, but I never saw any sell.   Sold on ebay (that I saw) ranged up to $800.

So, your paid price is probably correct if you take off one of the trailing zeros.

I would be interested in getting the bar, but only at about 1.9BTC (that includes the loaded coin to it).

Agree with everyone here.  About 2 months ago there were a bunch of 100btc bars that went for around 300-400 usd and some 1000btc bars that went for $1500.  Feel for unloaded pieces the 1000btc will fetch the most.

I had a bar that sold for in that second range, but it wasn't just a normal unfunded 100BTC. It was the upside down holo red dot etc etc, so it may be tough to sell just a normal bar in that range.

Those were the redeemed bars (not unfunded).  Sorry, just wanted to be clear on the subject.   Diff than what OP is asking about - which is a bearer bar.
