According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

1x to 1x risers are cheaper, and easier to plug in. It requires a little elbow grease for prepping it for 16x width cards though. Here's a bitmit link for some. The seller lives in canada. I bought 10 for about 0.767 BTC I think a week or so ago, got them today, they look great. still sealed too. https://www.bitmit.net/en/item/13396-pci-e-x1-riser-cables
