Most users here actually don't even read the content of altcoin ANN's.

They care ONLY and SOLELY about making more BTC or FIAT from these coins.

Proof: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=429478.0

Please read the ANN. Read what is written there. Then see how many people wrote "interested"

- LOL Come on, really. How sad is that? Is there hope?

i don't see why you are surprised?

most of this market consist of newbies who are just deciding with the hype in the market and what they read here in discussion and other places they don't care what they altcoin is as long as someone is telling them lies about how good it is.

I'm interested in altcoins but not enough to read through the garbage in the announcements.  In fact I have that section on ignore and I have never regretted that.  And there are waaay too many shitcoins coming out anyway. Too many to keep track of,  much less be interested in.

★★★ SPECIFICATIONS: INTRODUCING PROOF OF FRICTION

Max Coins: 333.333.666.666 FLC

Algorithm: Proof of Friction. PoF is an entirely new algorithm that was developed by MergeMiner284. For me personally it's a complete breakthrough to have any proof of friction firestarting anywhere in the west. First, there was Proof of Work. Later there was Proof of Stake. PoS is doomed to fail as anyone could clearly say. The proof of magnets not producing forces on their own is similar to the so called proof of friction. Simple fact: there is no such thing as a force! Due to this fact, we are more than proud to introduce our all new, THIRD GENERATION Proof of Friction Algorithm that will enable the network to detect frictions within the userbase to enforce EQUAL AND FAIR DISTRIBUTION OF ALL COINS. No other coin can come close to this. Our system and wallet is 100% new code that was written completely from scratch. Unlike NXT the client features a new wallet.dat technology which enables you to restore your wallet at any time using a specific phrase and your account number. On top of that we work with cutting edge 3 factor authentification.

Distribution Model: The PoF algorithm allows us to benefit of both PoW and PoS. You will be able to mine the coin as well as take part in its initial IPO. Mining is done not in a traditional way but using an all new, state of the art process called "Stacking", which can be done even on mobile phones. To make this as fair as possible we have intensively thought about a distribution model unlike anything ever seen. Users simply have to post Interested in this thread. Once we reach page 40, an entrance fee will have to be paid. All fees are paid with NXT. Every week a list containing all stakeholders will be updated. Stakeholder 1-300 get 6x higher amount of coins due to their interest.

Too bad for them. They'll be left holding the Bitcoin bag.

People might not post or interact often in the ANN threads, but they are frequented by users looking for technical specs.

Many exchanges, pools, and coin information sites have an obligatory "Forum Thread" link. So when users are looking for pools, exchanges, update information, coin specs, etc., they often refer to the ANN thread as an official resource for helpful information.
