How is that possible when they are $450 USD each for the miner alone?

His price is OK. You don't have to pay any custom fees since its already in the USA. Maybe he might also knock a few dollars off here or there.

Bitmain released thousands of transferable $100 off coupons about a month ago to keep up sales heading into the halving. You can get them for free everywhere you look, even Fleabay has them for just a few bucks.

This isn't Europe either, there is no VAT.

--Edit--  Just checked my stash and saw the coupon expired earlier this month.  Not sure if they released a follow up set or not.

Those coupons expired already and the price with the coupon was $450 USD.
They aren't $350 USD with coupons.

You're right, the coupons have expired.  You're missing the point though.  A month ago these things were going for $450/unit from the manufacturer... The price has fallen out of the bottom with the halving in 45 days.  (I was picking up S7 with PSU bundles for $400 a month ago).

Just do a bit of quick math.  Assume modest 5% network growth per interval.  Take dirt cheap electric rates of $0.035/KwH.  You get a total net revenue of $320 from this unit before it runs in the red.  And that's after 300 days.  Between day 180 and 300 it makes a whopping $20.

So in 6 months you'll be in the hole $100/unit with the possibility of shorting that to $80/unit if you can wait another 4 months...

That's assuming you have free and available PSUs ready to go...

I agree with what you are saying. Yes they are overpriced and its hard to make any decent profit off them, even with free electricity. But there is still huge demand for S7 and thats why prices are still high.

The cheapest S7 I have ever saw sold was for $425USD a few weeks ago at 0.9BTC.

I can't tell if you are trying to negotiate a price or just complaining.

If you are negotiating, please send me a PM..

If your complaining, the price is in line with what others are selling S7's for.. Feel free to post links to credible lower offers.

My apologies if it appeared as complaining.  I guess if someone is lined up behind me willing to pay $400 or $425 plus shipping then it would be accurately described as complaining, otherwise it's simply pointing out that this price seems way too high given easily discussed concrete factors.

I purchased 2 units (batch 4 and batch 7) from Achtung082 for $400/unit shipped on May 18th.  Was willing to purchase at higher price without PSU because he had the batch 7 at 5TH and I've always wanted to play with one of those.  Even my emotional white whale transaction was a better deal with the free shipping.

I am working a deal with Force098 as we speak.  His list price is $360, but we're discussing an alternative amount via PM.  I can confirm after the transaction is completed as it will be referenced in my trust for all to see.  He started at $450 on the 11th, dropped to $400 on the 17th, and arrived at $360 yesterday.

WTB offer from April 3rd for $360 with a decrease to $180 starting May 1st.

S7s are still in demand, but only for a reasonable price.  Plenty of people are trying to escape an impossible ROI before the halving.  Based on the experience I've had dealing with the folks above I was honestly expecting to see the price per unit at $325 with all 6 going for $300/unit including the PSUs.  Even that deal favors the seller as you need 'Goldilocks' conditions to ROI.

So new:
S7 = $450
PS = $140 ( 31% of the cost of miner)

At $300 for both used:
S7 = $207
PS = $93

That is just not going to happen (not yet anyway).

I am in conversations with 2 others about these at the moment. So I guess will see. I do appreciate the links, but they are not direct sales. They are just someone posting something (hearsay) that's hard to prove.

Bitmain just updated their pricing with the reconfigured S7-LN PSU included.

https://enshop.bitmain.com/productDetail.htm?pid=00020160527114935137wr0xd6U006A9

You can't line these things up side by side for comparison because the LN is only 2 hash boards.  You can easily work out the $/TH and scale it up to 4.66 for comparison though.

If you do that 4.66 TH with PSU is valued from Bitmain at $480.  Using the same ratio of unit and PSU cost you get the following.
New:
S7 = $366
PS = $114

Now considering PSUs are basically worthless used... You can buy a used 1200W hp for $30 on eBay.  Not an auction either, full time eBay store with 100s available.  Now consider eBay is naturally overpriced and $30 for PSU with VGA cables sounds reasonable.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-DL580G5-437572-B21-441830-001-438202-002-800-1200W-AC-Power-Supply-/161940249325?hash=item25b4641aed:g:ZZUAAOSwwPhWjt1t

Used:
S7: $295
PS: $30

I was expecting $325/bundle ($300 if purchasing all of them).  Suddenly $295 (with brand new at $366) doesn't sound nearly as crazy.

This is looking at real low ball performance out of the LN model too.  It appears to be 2 of the 45 chip hash boards.  Clocked at 700M I would expect to see 2/3 of batch 17 performance, or 3.15TH/s.  Using those numbers scaled to 4.66TH/s you only get a total value from Bitmain of $415 with PSU, not $480.  The above was all done assuming the low rated performance of 2.7TH/s (as opposed to expected 3.15TH/s) as that's how it's currently listed.

If it turns out the LN performs at 3.15TH/s and you scale to 4.66TH/s you get:
New:
S7 = $315
PS = $100

Now my proposed fair pricing looks like a steal for the seller.  Offloading for $20 less than manufacturer...
Used:
S7: $295
PS: $30

There is no reason to "scale" a lower quality miner when Bitmain is still selling the S7.
$50 off what Bitmain sells a S7 for with no customs tax (if in USA) is still a good offer.

Once again I have to ask, I you interested in buying these or just trying out your haggling skills?

P.S. The PS on the LN will not run a S7..

Who says the LN is a lower quality model?  It simply appears to be 2 hash boards instead of 3.  You can buy 3 LNs (6 hash boards total) and it's the exact same as buying 2 S7s (6 hash boards total)...

I can buy 3 LNs with PSUs attached for $828.  That stands to reason that 2 S7s with PSU are also worth $828.  Why would I care how I get the TH/s?  6 hash boards is 6 hash boards.  That puts 1 S7 with PSU worth about $415 brand new.  The price you keep pointing to is Bitmain's price last month...

Take out the cost of the PSU and the S7 alone is only worth about $315 brand new.  Which, incidentally, is about all anyone will earn running the thing.  Funny how that works... It's almost like Bitmain knows how to set their prices...

My motivation? Talking sense into a seller that seems bent on ripping someone off.  I've provided all the math that clearly shows exactly what these units are worth.  I've even provided links to other threads that demonstrate that they do indeed sell for that value.  Heck, I've actually purchased 5 S7s with PSUs a month ago (a month and a half for the 4 batch 2s) for what you're asking for today.  That's absolutely crazy.

I'm always interested in playing with new gear.  But we are way off.  I'm talking the tune of $1,800 shipped for all 6 with PSUs.  Any more than that and I'd be better off picking up 9 LNs from the manufacturer.  I'd get a warranty on the gear and the peace of mind knowing that I'm running on brand new PSUs that haven't been run into the ground.

Your secondhand gear is not worth as much as Bitmain's brand new.  I'm sorry if you're trying to cover a loss, but that isn't a buyer's problem.

@Puffy23 - If you have no intention or interest in buying any of his gear then why keep filling his sales thread with pointless posts that detract from his sales.

Everyone here is an adult and can make their own mind up if its a price they are willing to pay or not.

Let potential buyers haggle a price.

Batch 6 was clocked at 600M.  The LN is clocked at 700M.

Either Bitmain has a typo on their freq. or their hash rate.

Even if it is the 600M boards, you could purchase 10 instead of 9 to achieve the same hash rate.  That is the math I used in the above post that puts the S7 at $366 new.  Still not seeing how you get to $400 or $425 being a fair price...

As for the warranty:

This warranty is valid only in the United States and Canada and grants specific legal rights, it does not extend to owners of the product other than the original owner. You may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

That's right from Bitmain.
