Did try creating a new wallet from the seed?
Did you mess with the cap limit at some point?
How do you know there are more than 999 TX?

Im not really here, its just your imagination.

hi shorena
-installed Electrum on 3 different computers (Mac, Windows, Ubuntu), everwhere the same, stops at 999.
-don't understand "mess with the cap limit", can you explain, please?
-blockchain.info shows 1003 Tx and correct balance.

Thx for your suggestions, nerioseole
I've got 5 bitcoin addresses, all showing correct Tx and balance, except the one with more than 999.
Also tried to set active servers manually to some with 10000 limit. Though it then starts new synchronization, it stucks at 999.

It should have been "gap" limit, my bad. Usually if you dont know what it means it also means you have not messed with it. By default the gap limit is 20, which means that you will see 20 addresses. If you had increased that in the past it might be that you are using addresses that are not checked by electrum for a balance. It doesnt sound like this is the case though.

My guess its a server issue as well. What you maybe could try:

#1 export the private key for the address in question
#2 import it into a new electrum wallet
#3 see if you can find a server that lets you sync (aka the annoying part)
#4 send the coins to a new address that is covered by your main wallet's seed

Im not really here, its just your imagination.

If you click on (what IIRC is) the green button on the lower right of electrum, then you will see a list of available electrum servers as well as the maximum number of transactions (addresses?) they will display. Many of them have a limit of 1,000 although some have a 10,000 limit.

My advice would be to create a new electrum wallet (with a newly generated seed) and start receiving BTC at address associated with that wallet. You can use your old wallet to spend BTC as needed, although you will want to be connected to a server with a high limit when you do.  If this will pose a problem for you for whatever reason then you will need to be sure that you are connected to a electrum server that has a higher limit (this could however reduce privacy because the number of potential servers you can connect to will be significantly decreased).

Just send half of the amount shown in electrum wallet to your electrum address and it will become normal. The no. Of unspent output will come down to 600~700.

nothing seems to do the trick! tried to rebuild blockchain_headers, manually connected to various 10000 Tx servers etc.
I think it's a bug in the Electrum progam or the 10000 limit is fake. Anyway, my bitcoin address in question shows correct balance and number of tx in blockchain.info, blockexplorer.com, blocktrail.com or others. With Electrum offering the private key it is easy to import it in another program as I want to keep this bitcoin address because it is related to regular small income from webpages.
Anyone there who has more than 999 Tx working?
thank you

more strange behavior!
when new transactions are incoming and still pending, they are added to the 999, will say, the counter gets to 1000 or 1001, but when they become confirmed, the Tx counter gets back to 999.
I think I should contact Thomas Voegtlin to let him know about.

Don't think Thomas will help you out, he maintains an Electrum-Server that has less than 100 UTXOs per addresses...

this is utterly wrong. you are confusing two things.
1. Electrum servers have a pruning limit for spent outputs, that may vary. (my servers limit is 100). since these are spent outputs, it does not affect your balance.
2. Electrum servers do not return more than 1000 utxos per address. this is the issue encountered by the OP. Note that servers do have the complete set of UTXOS in their database, they just do not report it beyond 1000, to prevent DOS attacks.

@OP: please consolidate your UTXOS and the server will send you the complete list.
