Ripple server periodically gets redeployed, hence clients show the state as "offline"

My bet is that it will eventually happen in the future even if xrp value stays the same. At that point you probably won't want to convert anything to usd Wink

2 different forms of free-money: Freicoin (free of basic interest because it's perishable), Mutual credit (no interest because it's abundant)

I'm still getting to grips with how Ripple works but it seems it complements Bitcoin well, very well Smiley

There are 21M BTC and 100B XRP, do the math. Also the only use for XRP is for paying transaction fees on Ripple.

No.

He's saying they are not meant to have any intrinsic value. Think of them like arcade tokens vs. quarters.

The Foundation will keep distributing XRP to keep the exchange rate low so people will be less tempted to hoard them.

You totally screwed up your title. What you said is "Ripple's gone", which means "Ripple is gone", which anybody scrolling through the subjects would think that Ripple had disappeared and everybody using Ripple is now screwed. But what you meant to say is "Ripples gone" or "Ripples're gone" which means that the ripples are gone. Stop spreading FUD and use correct grammar in your subject line!

No reason to be a dick about it.
