He maybe has too much money he doesn't know how to spend, so he buy such very very unimportant thing.

I think it's bettee to buy foods than this virtual skin  Grin

This is really not something new. Have you heard of the Tulip Mania? This is something similar.

Wow! He or she must be a game addict. Spending money this much for a game accessory is crazy. He must be very rich. I wish I was the seller. Smiley

yeah there are a lot of people who actually spend that much money on the games as they want to get full collections or something like that though i doubt its worth the money and efforts

i would never buy such an item for so much money in my opinion, first of all i wouldnt have anywhere to use it as i dont play that game and secondly i need more money for a living

I wasn't shocked after reading this. There are tons of CS:GO fans/players out there. They don't actually mind buying an item there that costs a lot simply because they know that they can sell it one day especially if that item is limited. These kind of items are just like the items in the real world which you can sell it after a long time. You just hold on to it for a long time and then if the item is on demand and you put it in auction, then surely your money will double or even triple.

It would suggest they are fairly smart to coin up such an advanced

money laundering system while brushing up on ur headshots

How people can be stupid like this really hard to believe on that kind of foolish stories, $55,000 spent on a digital item and i believe buyer was drunk at that time or it is self buy item maybe that is easiest way to get publicity with that kind of trick.

The item that was sold was a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive skin.
Sold for $55,000 by a collector and purchased by: http://steamcommunity.com/id/DeeNice23/inventory/

This is the skin:

Wow, Unbelievable, this is the power of collector. The collector always has unlimited money... Shocked  well, $55,000 only for re-skin weapon.... I can't understand it, what did can make a collector want to spent their much money for that....  and it's only a skin.....  I got shocked after I've heard this news.

That's just crazy!
Ok I can understand the gamers paying a few hundred bucks for really rare items.
I can even understand if people pay ~ $2000 for a capital ship in star citizen.
But 55K for a knife??? Jesus christ!!

I can see why people want to do crazy stuff like that.... I played a strategy MMO and you buy crystal packs in the game, to enable you to grow much faster and also add crazy looking skins

for your castles and hero's. I just cannot see why someone would dump $55k into a damn dagger... that is just crazy... yes small amounts like $10  to $100 .... but not $55k ...Wow.

Unfortunately that game, do not accept Bitcoin, which is a pitty, because it give loads of fun and entertainment.  Grin Grin Grin .... If we get one of these games to start accepting Bitcoin, the price would

skyrocket... lot's of kids with loaded pockets, but not allowed to use it, because of age restrictions.
