Some people (well, most of them) playing CS:GO are pure morons, kinda stupid, and ready to buy all that shit.
Not just morons, you need to be a rich moroon But like has been said, it's probably just some money laundry... lol, i have seen these wierd expensive trades on steam where people buy items that should be worth $0.10 with $500 but never this much! it is definitely shady!

I thought it was kind of creature skin, but it is game accessoris. I failed to see what the benefits of buying game stuff in a high price. He maybe has too much money he doesn't know how to spend, so he buy such very very unimportant thing. I think it's bettee to buy foods than this virtual skin I fully agree. He has spent in fact over $100k on CS:GO items. But this item in particular was with Bitcoin so I found it interesting to share.

Wow he literally paid 55k$ for some shiny pixels. We all pay for pixels while we are buying bitcoins but that is a whole different level of madness.
Will he be able to resell those pixels for the same amount? I doubt it. He is probably richer than any of us combined here so he didn't give a damn about that probably.

I hate to say this.. But he will probably sell it for more to a Chinese / Arab collector. And they will pay a lot. He could potentially make profit.

Ok people I'll let u in in a little secret it's called advanced money laundering it's also a way of hiding drug purchases Hey the accountant won't let u waste business money but u arranged with the car dealer if u buy his $300,000 Ferrari their will be a nice big bag of stuff in the boot now u just need to convince the accountant that the business can afford a Ferrari But this here is a item from a game called counter strike... yup Wat a lazy way to launder money I guess the size of transaction didn't warrant a hand made Ferrari hahahaha Yes but with a Ferrari, you would have to sell it again to receive funds, this way it's direct. Seller and buyer are in the same game so to speak

Watson seller and buyer is the same person Wat better way to launder money than with your alt, This way you could be the buyer or the seller depending on which way the BTC prices goes and the balance of your tax return

I have steam installed in my laptop but never played CS:Go but have heard about this in many places but my question is does that $55K is withdrawable from steam network? If yes, this may be intresting to check but paying 15$ for a game is really expensive.

Good vid about the most expensive digital items ever sold. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUNRl3kAATkSome I guess make sense from a business standpoint, some are just people being dumb that have too much money on their hands.

The amount people spend on virtual property is unbelievable but they do make money out of it from those who visit their property/planet. Well in this case, if he can afford 55k on a skin then I'm sure that his bank balance is pretty deep.

It's too much money, anyone w/ the slightest brain can see that - but! There is a glimmer of good news about things like this.
It shows virtual world economies, lifestyles, the concept of earning a living exclusively via work in virtual worlds ; as well as, by consequent, more in-depth virtual realities, eventually leading to full-immersion VR, are well in progress!
This is the dream. The sacred vision of the future all us cyberpunks/gamers/anime fans/many other circles have longed for since the '80's.

That's pretty much how I looked at this - Bitcoin is being used in a different marketplace. I thought this was good news. But I am still baffled with a purchase for just pixels... $55k is ridiculous

That's not impossible either. People are really smart nowadays and use whatever platform to transfer money, even through games. I mean, just imagine that the seller and the buyer are mates, and just used CS:GO to transfer funds.

The less people that play CS:GO = a drop in price of skins - Not necessarily! People believe it or not, actually trade CS:GO items as a job, and example would be a user named cAre. His inventory is worth around $200k and trades daily. As for the knife, the pattern is one in the world. Extremely rare.
