hi,
i'm trying to get some help setting up bitcoin on my home wlan.
i'm a bitcoin confused <see what i did there?
about the architecture and so-forth. perhaps you can point me to the resources i need to get up to speed.
otherwise i am looking to run bitcoind on a debian server facing the internet using the example here...
http://bealers.com/2012/01/installing-bitcoin-on-debian-squeeze/which i think came off your board. i have installed the backport package just as he did which is why i chose to use this example.
specifically the issue i am having trouble with is the line "CHUID=user:group". i am not sure what i should change this to. i presume that i should create a bitcoin group, then replace <group> with the name of the bitcoin group and then add my user account to that group. and this is where i run into the trouble. i have never created groups or managed them before.
and then after i get this issue with setting up the groups resolved? i should run a client on some other machine?
please advise.
thank you.
