Avalon Asic Power requirements

Hello,

Not a genuine newbie anymore, but this is a "noob" ish question.

Does anyone know if the PSU in the Avalon Asics can cope with 240v 50hz mains power (UK) or will it require a transformer/adaptor?

If so will a standard American to Uk transformer (120v 60hz->240v 50hz?)

Avalon uses a standard PC power supply that has active power factor correction. All you need is a standard power cable with your country specific plug on the end and you will be good to go. The power supply will work on anything from ~100-250vac or so 50/60Hz

Knowing that it can need almost a 1000W (for a 220GH/s) , Is there any specific requirement to the power cable ?
Some cables are 5A some 13A…
Just wondering… (since one cable i was using for one machine became extremely hot, and had to change it for another one, then i noticed that there were not all the same).

Heavier gauge power cords are required for larger power supplies. They are more expensive but cheap IEC cables are usually 18-16 gauge and get quite hot when you put any more than like 5A of load on them.
